I was gonna ask the same question.officer_dibble wrote:What the hell does "playing within himself" mean?
I don't know man, you could as well be describing Danns. But Lennon seems to love Danns.LeverEnd wrote:From what I witnessed at MK dons I'd say it means taking no risks, playing with little confidence, passing it sideways and being generally lacklustre. Could be wrong though! I think Neil is being kinder to him than he has been to Walker. They both need to pull their fingers out if they want to stay in the team though.officer_dibble wrote:What the hell does "playing within himself" mean?

He likes his high energy midfielders, danns provides that even at his worst. Vela was lethargic at MK.Jugs wrote:I was gonna ask the same question.officer_dibble wrote:What the hell does "playing within himself" mean?

In the same game Danns was blocking a runner through on our goal one minute then bursting into their box the next. He was massively better than Vela on the night. He's limited of course, but aren't all our players one way or the other?
He needs Pratley back alongside him, they were very good together last season, can provide a platform for our front lads to miss chances from!

Fook me, at least get the quotes reetLeverEnd wrote: Beats Dougie's assertion that his players weren't good enough to stay up.
After we'd been trashed at Fulham
Are these players good enough to stay up?
Doesn't look like it, does it?
Having seen the abject capitulation, it was hard to disagree

Actual quotes CAPSLOCK! You are kidding surely.
Not from this thread, but it's still my favourite 'prediction' from last season.

Gets me every time.I keep wondering about where we'd be if Lennon had come in during the summer, where he'd have had a full pre-season to work on tactics and the players wouldn't have been destroyed mentally by playing in such a stifling system under a manager they didn't like. I think we'd be closer to the top 3 than bottom 3.

Fook me, do I really need exact quotes, page references and footnotes? Perhaps a bibliography?CAPSLOCK wrote:Fook me, at least get the quotes reetLeverEnd wrote: Beats Dougie's assertion that his players weren't good enough to stay up.

That was waving the white flag in my opinion and interpretation. Feel free to nitpick though.

Nero fiddles while Gordon Burns.

I've been to both home league games so far, and taking no risks, playing with little confidence, passing it sideways, and being generally lacklustre sums Danns up.LeverEnd wrote:He likes his high energy midfielders, danns provides that even at his worst. That and some woeful shooting and misplaced passes.
I didn't see the MK Dons performance, mind.
But Danns has been on a downward spiral for a while.
Maybe he has some energy, but I'm not convinced.
