Re: the glorious "I was wrong" thread
I was wrong about Bo Hansen. I thought the conveyor belt of exotic Scandinavian talent would keep on giving with this one. Back then I believed everyone we signed from that part of the world was a diamond. Gudni, Eidur, Arnar, Claus, Per & Michael. Oh Bo. You numpty. Wikipedia has him down for 15 goals in the bright white of Bolton. I must challenge that. How many success stories have we had from Northern Europe since that golden age? Just Jussi? Certainly not Braaten, Elmandonkey or Wilhelmsson. Layabouts.
Re: the glorious "I was wrong" thread
I was wrong cutting Megson some slack once,
I was totally wrong in my intial thoughts about Coyle
I started the Freedman out thread a little late, sorry

Re: the glorious "I was wrong" thread
I defended N'Gog until the day he left.
Looks like I'm wrong about Freedman but still have hope in him.
I didn't think Phil Gartside was that bad until I found out that we're fecked for money. Out of everything that he's done, the fact we're in this situation where we can't get the player everyone wanted for a million is ultimately holding us back.

I miss Zat Knight already.

Another here for Vaz Te. Still mystifies me, that. I also thought Nicky Hunt could go a long way (not down). Both show how a lot of football's in the mind not the feet.
Thought we could get out of this division at the first time of asking, although I still say it's more interesting than the Premier.

I still DO think Vaz Te will make it, so I'm not admitting I'm wrong yet.
I recall thinking that Allardyce's football had become stale and being bored with it by the end. Really.

Just watching the man himself doing the Champs Lge draw. He looks a lot healthier than Dougie, cracking tan.bobo the clown wrote:I didn't think signing Hierro for what was, in practical terms by the time he signed and got fit, a little more than half a season, made any sense at all. I now believe that he was a footballing God and possibly the best player I've ever been privileged to see in a Bolton shirt ... even in that short period, even at that age.
I also watched Campo play at Centre-Half and thought "wtf ?"

I can remember being all excited when Peter Beardsly arrived here. Didn't last long....

God no. It'll be in 4 or 5 years time. Come back then and if I've been wrong I'll freely admit it.Worthy4England wrote:We need to try and pin the bugger on this one.thebish wrote:bobo the clown wrote:I still DO think Vaz Te will make it, so I'm not admitting I'm wrong yet.

Yep forgot about him. Saw his debut at Coventry when he set up 2 goals for Blake I think, and thought he'd star for us. I think they spanked us 5-1 in the return fixture at the Reebok and I can't remember anything else he did.TANGODANCER wrote:I can remember being all excited when Peter Beardsly arrived here. Owen Coyle was my main one. A bit more leftfield was my adulation for Andranik. still think he did not get enough chances!

I remember watching us "drub" Reading 3-1 and thinking, yeah, Sammy Lee is the light and the way and that Daniel Braaten, what a player he's gonna be for us! GULP!

In an Amsterdam bar with William the White on that day. We insisted the barman put the match on the TV, showing him our scarves as proof of our affiliation. A few minutes in he asked in a sympathetic voice:
"So. This team in white, they're your team?"
