He's better than Trotter.

Then again, Hobo's better than Trotter.

If he goes to Halfords, Threlkeld & White will be on their bikes.

I think or I'd like to think the purpose of signing Halford is to play him upfront otherwise he's pointless.

I may well be wrong, but it all seems like we're scratching around to send a team out that there's no proof will be better than what we have. They won't have played together beyond a few hours training and ....well, I dunno....I just hope it's all going somewhere and not just desperation..

What's the odds that we might get someone who's any use past the halfway line??

So this Rob Halford chap's the new Scott Green, right?

He _can_ play up front.

And tricky Al the SQL-server (I think we know now he's not as good as an Oracle, but still has some use - not been downgraded to MSAccess yet...) reckons we're about to sign an attacking, creative midfielder who's good. So another journeyman ball-winner and "grafter" on the cards, then.

All good.

By the way, the mention of Greeny made me wonder what he's up to these days. Apparently he was manager at Yeovil until a year or two back. Now unemployed - so I reckon he'd be eager to take over here. Another good shout for Freedman 'a eventual replacement.

Apparently Billy Davies planned to use him (Halford) as a striker on a regular basis, after he played up front in a 3-0 win over us.

Guess that doesn't quite make him the new Kev Davies, but who knows..?

I'm guessing the "against us" was probably why the plan never really had legs.

Well, Youth team coach but the point remains.

Scott Green, my eyes are watering. His game v Wolves in the Play off second leg was little short of World class.

Garvan is a good player at this level. He isn't too dissimilar to Mavies (but not as good). He scores goals (though Andrews scores goals at this level but never for us) and can retain possession well. I think it might prove to be a decent little loan signing.

So you reckon it's a case of:

"Right lads, we've got Bolton at home next week. Any of you defensive cloggers fancy having a go up front? Points are in the bag anyway, so might as well have a laugh..."
