Lee Turner, anyone? :conf:
I think they're just hoping we have a season ticket holder by that name. When the ticket is scanned, Garty will pop out like Cilla and shout "surprise, surprise"...

What does it say about our Club that we put the goalkeeping coach in charge?

Fckin shambolic.

F*ck me, "The 47-year-old joins from Crystal Palace".

Has Crystal Palace's pension scheme invested heavily in Moonshift or something?

And I've just noticed we're bottom of the table.

F*cking brilliant.

At least the new manager will only have to concentrate on the small matter of winning some games of football, as all the other things that are important to a football club in the relegation zone like er, well whatever they are, are perfect.

I'd like to think our predicament wasn't really all Dougie's fault. I'd like to think some of our players will admit they could have put more in if D.F hadn't been there. If that isn't so, then we're really in trouble. I hope that now they'll put that bit more into getting us back on track. I said the other day that I knew quite a few of the young lads didn't relate to Dougie; couldn't understand him, disliked him in fact. This wasn't speculaltion, I knew it for a fact. I'm not prepared to say how, but it's the truth. Maybe now, that will change too. Not so much he lost the dressing room, more like he never had it.

I don't understand that logic at all. It's not as if caretaker managers have never been given the job, is it? Brian McDermott, for instance, was Reading caretaker after Brendan Rodgers "left by mutual consent", and got that job largely on the strength of winning int he Cup at Liverpool...

As for the goalkeeper coach (who I admit I've never heard of) taking charge, it's a bit odd but I suppose someone has to. Curious decision, though. It says something that the local newspaper hasn't even got a picture to accompany the story, just the club badge, because most folk wouldn't know either bloke if they fell over him.

Bolton Wanderers have appointed Lee Turner as a goalkeeping coach.

The 47-year-old joins from Crystal Palace and will begin his role with immediate effect.

Turner’s playing career saw him turn out for Ebbsfleet and Margate before moving into coaching with Southend United.

During an eight-year stint at Roots Hall, Turner became close acquaintances with current Bolton boss Dougie Freedman, who finished his playing career with a the Shrimpers between 2008 and 2010.

And after being appointed as manager of Palace, Freedman then recruited Turner as his goalkeeping coach in January 2011.
Gartside is a complete knob!

There will be that little job of un-teaching players how to run.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

One of the weirdest run styles I've ever seen is Arjen Robben. He runs like John Inman and I doubt anybody taught that....but hey.....

Apparently, some Blackpool fans staged a planned walkout in 53rd minute (for obvious symbolic reasons). Then they score a winner in 64th minute.

Football is like pets and kids - will make tw*t of you when you least expect it.

I've heard that Jimmy, David Lee et al thought Freedman was a dick. They distanced themselves from him and just kept their heads down and carried on doing what they did until he left. maybe Phil G resents them for that?
All the more reason for him to follow DF out the door.

Have I got this right - Turner and Hooch are overseeing the team this afternoon? I mean a big slobbery dog might be better than Lennie Lawrence, but Forrest Gump?! FFS!

Lonergan, Herd, Mills, Dervite, Ream, Danns, Spearing, M Davies, Chung-Yong, C Davies, Beckford

So no Moxey, no 4-5-1, no Garvan, no Spearing-Medo job share.
