A smartphone? Radio app?
Some "dumbphones" come with radio, you just have to plug earphones in as an antenna.

It had to happen.
Hate to bring down the good mood but I have zero faith in Gartside to bring in a good replacement.

Re: Freedman gone
That Tweet from Lynch confirms a lot of what we thought was happening. It's fair enough if Freedman didn't think certain players had a future with us but the way it was handled seems to have left a lot of people unhappy, and that was always bound to have a negative effect on the rest of the squad. Baptiste, Kevin Davies, Eagles, Hall, Knight...how many of those players, and many others, would have a good thing to say about Freedman? A manager will never get the best out of a team if he can't create a positive atmosphere and that's another area Freedman failed in.

Jay Lynch was released by Feckless so he can say what he wants. Good on him I say!
Re: Freedman gone
any word on what happens to dougie's entourage - or have I missed it in all the excitment??
also - driving home today - turned on R5 - sports news came on..
there were no fewer than FOUR football stories before the afterthought one about us parting company with Dougie...
1) Mourinho had summat tedious to say about the so-called "Rooney Rule"
2) Costa has been picked for the Spain squad
3) some fecker at West Ham has been found guilty of summat and has community service
4) Man Citeh have a full squad to pick from this weekend - and no injuries...
how the mighty have fallen!!

Aye, that's about the size of it. We are a very long way from being important any more.thebish wrote:any word on what happens to dougie's entourage - or have I missed it in all the excitment??

Re: Freedman gone
Phew. It was getting ridiculous and bizarre. I am still confused by Freedman openly articulating to the press that is squad wasn't good enough, and the silence of PG / ED. Things do not feel good at all right now.
It would be nice if we could get someone like Malky MacKay or Tony Pulis, but the way the club feels right now it doesn't look like they should even consider coming here. From the other names I've seen mentioned, I would be inclined to give Jimmy Phillips and David Lee a go. They at least have a feel for the club and the supporters.

Re: Freedman gone
with 36 left to play, I s'pose we should just about make the 75-point play-off mark if we average 2ppg. But who could expect 2ppg in this division?EverSoYouri wrote:A very long way...or just 3/4 of a season?

Re: Freedman gone
I can't understand why people keep saying Pulis.
He was Premiership Manager of the Season last year, has become very used to spending major quantities of money and indeed walked out on Palace because they wouldn't fund his ambitious spending plans (a la Mr Allardyce). Also, he's big buddies with Megson so probably he & this club's hierarchy are none too close. We may have had a chance 4 or 5 seasons ago ... at which point we'd have all whinged about his being a morose, lower level, Allardyce clone.
We aren't even close to being in his frame.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Not sure Super John knows what he's on about when he says we need a manager who knows the town and used to play for the club. Didn't we try that with Coyle???
