Just refamiliarising myself with the Sherpa DAF Paints Trophy, just in case new guy is no good. Bristol City vs Cheltenham.
As long as big Euro clubs don't asset-strip our squad in the summer, we can win this next year!
Believe.

Apparently, Lennon has been offered the Saudi job, according to everyone's favourite Oracle....which is probably why he's drifting in the market....

I don't know how these things work, but I imagine that Lennon would want to stall on making a decision regarding the Saudi job until he knows what's happening at Bolton. I think we'd be his preferred choice.

aye - and his capacity for avoiding religious conflict and controversy would stand him in good stead...

he would get untellable sums to spend and an income we can't imagine ... against managing a club who are broke, in crisis and even their own Chairman thinks have unreasonable fans.

Piece of piss .... Bolton would clearly be his first choice.

Hmm, I see it a different way. He can either take his first chance at managing in England, something he's been waiting for, or he can go away to some remote league that no one gives two hoots about and become another exile, the next John Gregory. I think he'll be up for the challenge at Bolton, regardless of if the Saudi club can give him enough cash to buy an ageing superstar, a la Anelka or some such. Does Lennon want comfort? Maybe, we'll see. It'd be a mark of his character if he had to choose between the two.

Going to Saudi at this point in his career would be like Raheem Sterling going to play in the MLS next season.

A bit.

Aye. Just seems like a waste to me. He might also get tarnished with the 'he's only in it for the money' brush too. Peter Reid taking whatever he's offered in India at his age you can understand (a bit), but not so much with Lennon, who supposedly has a lot of fire in his belly.

This is a bit like tossing a coin for a decision because you really can't decide. When it lands and you say "OK, best out of three then" .... then you know what you really wanted.

The moment we hear Lennon may have another option we're all.finding reasons why he shouldn't be so daft as not to come here.

Not me, Buddy Boy. The more offers he gets - the better.

Hmm to be fair, Lennon isn't one of my choices. I just think he'd take us over saudi arabia.

TBF Bruce I'd be happy with the devil if he improved our position and fired the club and supporters up.

Current betting (and who knows if there's any kind of solid info backing it?) has Hughton edging into favourite position.

I would say no one can know until the shortlisted candidates have all been interviewed but then there's the story of Megson...

Wouldn't work/live there even if paid silly money. Could understand taking the money for UAE or Oman, but anywhere else in the region would be a huge no for me.
