For me, it was not sacking Owen Coyle 12 months earlier, and supporting his transfer policy of getting two League One players for every position instead of one Premiership player.

In that period we turned down Alan Ball, Roger Hunt and Martin Dobson. Declined to give a trial to Colin Bell. Had missed to opportunity to sign Duncan Edwards and lost an ambitious Francis Lee.jaffka wrote:Alan Ball
