Know what you mean but Lennon seemed relaxed about it. It's a fortnight in which he can work on quite a few tactical things with the non-internationals, and they'll be all ears.

aye - I reckon Lennon will welcome the time as it has been pretty frenetic since he arrived...

on the other hand, my memory of recent managers is that we often don't do well after an international break - and those jollies abroad to get some winter-warmth training... that might be bollox tho!

We weren't doing well BEFORE an international break for a few years in fairness, so I don't think losing games immediately afterwards is reflective of anything other than our general form

More reasons to be cheerful: turns out that over the last five years, we've come back very well from international breaks. Only twice in the last 13 have we registered a worse result after the break than before - and one of those "better" results was that freak 5-0 win over Stoke that felt like Coyle had bought a computer-game cheat code.

We won the first game after the last international break... NL's first, at Birmingham. We'd lost the previous game, home to Bournemouth, in the interregnum.

After the previous international break (Sat 6 Sep) we came back with a home draw (Sheff Wed) on the Saturday and midweek win (Rotherham). Before the break, we'd lost three league games on the bounce.

Before that, the previous "Saturday-off" break was November 2013: win at Watford thanks to solo front-runner Jermaine Beckford. (We'd beaten Millwall and Bournemouth beforehand.)

Oct 2013: home draw (Sheff Wednesday again). We'd won at Birmingham beforehand (Beckford again.)

Sep 2013: home loss to Leeds, although that was our fifth straight defeat, so as Boris notes it's hardly exceptional.

Mar 2013: lost at Charlton (but won next four of the next five); we'd lost the game before the break at Ipswich (but won the previous five). #Dawson

Oct 2012: Beat Bristol City at home under Jimmy Pip; had lost at Millwall beforehand.

Sep 2012: Beat Watford at home; had lost at Hull beforehand.

Nov 2011: Lost at West Brom... and the next four games. Had beaten Stoke 5-0 beforehand (but lost the three before that).

Oct 2011: Won at Wigan. Had been panned in the previous four league games, stretching back to...

Sep 2011: Lost somewhere in Stretford. Had lost beforehand at Anfield.

Mar 2011: Lost at Birmingham; had lost beforehand somewhere in Stretford.

Oct 2010: Beat Stoke at home; had drawn beforehand at WBA.

Sep 2010: Lost at Arsenal; had drawn at home to Birmingham.

Nov 2009: Lost at home to Blackburn; had been panned at Villa.

Oct 2009: Lost somewhere in Stretford; had drawn at home with Spurs.

Sep 2009: Won at Pompey; had lost at home to Liverpool.

Donkey hote: tilting at towers. Woulda been mine. What have you got to do to name a match thread these days, book one two months in advance? It was all so much less fret before Enoch (b) 04/03/60

Away pub anyone?

I'll be in Blackpool for midday and rather find a few Bolton for a beer than risk the stag/hen fest in Blackpool Town Centre

As a complete aside (and this is your fault ;) ) Some years ago when a mate and I were thinking about putting a band together my idea was that we should call ourselves 'Bugger Bognor'. As you were.

No. After the supposed last words of George V.
