He's been very good recently. Lenny has placed his confidence in him and Lonergan has thrived on it. Made two excellent saves yesterday and that breeds confidence throughout the defence and team
Pfffft.

He's been great recently. With a bit of luck we can find a buyer for Bogdan in this next window and free some wages up for a striker or a full back

When he first came in to the side I was pretty unimpressed with him. Thought his positioning was poor and he was beaten with long rage strikes that you'd hope a goalie would get something on.

Perhaps he's improved his fitness and sharpness with this extended run and he's really pulled off some crucial finger-tip saves over the past few games.

Makes a big difference doesn't it? When you can rely on your goalie.

Ask Liverpool fans.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

He's doing well and long may it continue.

The only reason for shipping Bogdan out next month for a cut-price is if he gives some kind of indication that he won't sign a new deal and wants to leave the club of his own accord when his contracts run out in the summer. Selling our best keeper because his understudy is suddenly doing well is not the most wise or ambitious move a football club can make. Whether Bogdan leaving strengthens the full-back or striking departments or not, it definitely weakens the GK department. Bogdan goes in January + Lonergan gets injured = Paddy Kenny between the sticks. And we don't want that now, do we?

I don't see anyway he'll be signing a new deal. If he's on a rough guess of 20k a week (prem style contract) at the moment, I'd be amazed if he drops down to 3 or 4k a week. There are worse back up keepers than Kenny. Just the market we're in these days I'm afraid

If he's having his own thread - it'd be a nice touch to spell his name right!

here he is with his missus, Jennifer...

Image

he also has a big dog that has had a cruciate knee ligament operation... there's summat about BWFC and cruciate knee surgery!

the tie under the thin black jumper isn't a great move.... especially when the missus seems to have made an effort!

either way - Lonergan should have made a bit more of an effort there - he looks like a bag of chisels!

I'm just glad there's so many picky buggers about. All the more for us less fussy types. ;-)

she told me I look a bit scrawny - and that my hands are not as big as Lonny's!
