I thought it was an awful game probably not helped by awful conditions.
He's gotta stop playing Trotter.
Let's hope we improve for next Saturday.

But we're still missing good engines. I've looked through my old biology notes and can't find engines...thebish wrote:bravo!Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Broad shoulders. And the stomach for it. the missus says - we may need some balls... not sure if she is referring to the team or me
Re: Red v white, a thorny contest - Leeds United (H) 10/01/1
God, that music they place after we score is so embarrassing. Does anybody actually like it?
Re: Red v white, a thorny contest - Leeds United (H) 10/01/1
Personally, I hate music after teams score. Maybe if we have anyone who is going to the BWSA they can mention to Neil, it's happening this week I think from what the fella doing the intros before the game was saying yesterday
Pfffft.

The music is awful.
Even Bayern Munich has goal music. Just awful.

Trotter was poor, but he's a poor player. It's not like he isn't making an effort, only, there's more movement in Stephen Hawking, and that 4ucker hasn't moved a muscle since the Silver Jubilee. But who else is there to replace Chungy? Answer is, with Mark Davies perma-injured, no-one. Lennon's choice today was Trotter, Spearing or Medo (and thank feck we sent Garvan back). I think we can thank young Douglas for that. Oh, I also thought that Pratley had a very decent game on Saturday too.Peter Thompson wrote:This - utter garbage, awful piss poor performance for the full 90 mins against a dire Leeds side.adamworthy2002 wrote:What a load of rubbish that was.
Trotter was terrible, Feeney was terrible, The Referee was terrible.
Neither team really deserved to win that, not sure if either penalties should have been given either.
No creativity, no passion, no tempo, absolutely zero quality - league 1 stuff
The only player who gets any credit is Vela who had a good game, everyone else (and I mean everyone else) was very poor IMO - Trotter was abysmal, as was Ream.....very very poor performance.
Not sure what to make of today, I'd like to hear what Lennon said after the game - very uninspiring stuff that
May the bridges I burn light your way

It wasn't a great game, but I do think some of us are going a bit OTT with this rending of garments and tearing of hair...
Under Freedman, I'd have called this a decent show - doubt if I'd have been alone.
I'm no great fan of Trotter (and his lack of mobility is a major flaw) but I don't think he was as bad v Leeds as some are claiming. The conditions weren't great - swirling wind and sometimes driving sleet.
Reading between the lines, there seems to be some ongoing problem with Craig Davies's fitness (Lennon talked about 'having to play' Eidur and Heskey from the start.
Clough was injured (which is a massive disappointment to all concerned, given he looked the likely replacement for Chung's energy and creativity).
Major worry for me was how much more energy Leeds showed - often out-numbering us all over the field. (As has been noted elsewhere, this may be a result of the squad being thin and overstretched - given how much pressing we were doing in NL's first few games).
IMNSHO too many on here allowed themselves to get carried away with dreams of the play-offs. Let's hold onto the simple, realistic but comforting thought that mid-table will be a very fine finish to this season, given where we were headed pre-Lenin's ongoing revolution.

Re: Red v white, a thorny contest - Leeds United (H) 10/01/1
Wasn't [articularly impressive, but it just looks like each game is coming too quickly from some players at the minute. The tempo we want to play at, some are struggling to match.
Danns, Trotter, Pratley, Feeney all guilty of looking fooked/not at the races.
Heskey is Heskey - He'll have a good game every now and then, will mostly look like a 37 year old who hasn't played in England for years. Same to be said for Eidur - Who looks woefully short of the required standard.
Think it's just a case of barebones at the minute - Enforcements most definitely needed

Or Vela, but that just shifts the problem elsewhere.Bruce Rioja wrote:Trotter was poor, but he's a poor player. Re: Red v white, a thorny contest - Leeds United (H) 10/01/1
I disagree with that. He doesn't have the energy and gusto of younger lads, or even a Pratley, but he never will ever again. He isn't going to be seen chasing the ball all over the place, or even running down the channels. He has neat touches, great control, movement and an eye for an intelligent short pass. He opens up space, finds gaps, controls possession well. From what we can expect of Eidur from now until he end of the year, I don't think he's short.boltonboris wrote:Wasn't [articularly impressive, but it just looks like each game is coming too quickly from some players at the minute. I think Eidur is still adjusting to having players around him that are, shall we say limited. From the highlights there were a few instances where he looked to be trying to work out what/where the fcuk those around him were doing/going!
