FA Cup fifth round draw
obviously a pointless thread as we're going to get an absolute shoeing by Liverpool next week (hello, fate), but anyone care who we have next round? Draw's in about an hour or so i believe.

Shit draw. If we can beat the Scousers. The only upside is that it would be a new ground for me.

Re: FA Cup fifth round draw
As a Bolton fan living in Crystal Palace (though not Selhurst, where the ground is), I'll take that. If we can beat Liverpool, of course. And that's a big "if".
Formerly known as Meg'sEleven. And Owen'sEleven. And Dougie'sEleven. We're getting through them aren't we...
Re: FA Cup fifth round draw
I think this is a pretty good draw to be honest. Selhurst always comes across as a proper atmospheric ground, and I think it'll be an excellent game in front of another big crowd if we can get through.

Re: FA Cup fifth round draw
It's not the worst draw because if we can draw with a good Liverpool side, who actually played well, then we've got a chance of beating Palace. I wouldn't consider us the favourites but if we earn a chance to play them, we don't deserve to be written off either.

Their fans have made an effort lately, but whenever I've been, it's been a depressing shithole.Jugs wrote:Selhurst always comes across as a proper atmospheric ground

Ha! I like a lot of places I've been, and find it tiring when away fans gormlessly rework Sloop John B's "I wanna go home". I'm also genuinely intrigued by the psychogeography of different places, and having lived down here since Colin Todd was the manager, I'm not one of yer "London's wank" knee-jerkers. But I've always found Selhurst (area and ground) miserable.thebish wrote:at last a co-author for Dan's book!Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Their fans have made an effort lately, but whenever I've been, it's been a depressing shithole.Jugs wrote:Selhurst always comes across as a proper atmospheric ground

The approach in from Sydenham and the view heading back into London from the top of the hill is fantastic. The ground and the (lack of) parking is a pain. The train takes longer to get back to North London than to drive to Bolton (it feels).
Yeah. Not great.

On a side note, that's virtually the only thing my non-football loving missus took away from our Bolton experience in Sheffield last year.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Ha! Lots and lots of nice places in and around London. Selhurst is none of them. (And yep, GtE, lovely view.)Bruce Rioja wrote:Penge is nice.

Word on the tweets: might be on telly again. Guess BT are hoping it's not us, though.
#BWFC's potential FA Cup fifth round tie away at @CPFC has been selected for broadcast on BT Sport on Saturday 14 February, kick-off 5.30pm.
