Could be Feeney at RB?plymouth wanderer wrote:Vela needs to be in midfield with danns! looks like 4 at the back. Looking awfully light weight in midfield again
Feeney-Wheater-Mills-Ream
Clough-Danns-Vela-Bannan
Le Fondre-Heskey
(Or a tighter central midfield 3 with Feeney pushing on from right-back and Clough floating)
For what it's worth, BWFC's follow-up tweet puts them in this order, but I think it's guesswork - it's not like Lennon does the tweeting...
Amos, Vela, Mills, Wheater, Ream, Danns, Bannan, Feeney, Heskey, Clough, Le Fondre
Re: The Winter Hill Tale-Brighton home.
All manner of ways that 11 can set up . Can't say Lennon isn't brave with his selections . A goalless draw looks pretty unlikely !
Feeney can certainly play right back but given how effective he's been further forward it'd be a surprise . Looks like clough could be left wing on a 442 or its a 352. All manner of permutations and quite likely it will switch during the game .
If it goes awry most of our cards are already on the table from the start .

I'd prefer to see that team DSB but the flanks look weak. I would've Brought mcnaughton in for heskey! Clough and ALF upfront feeney and bannan on the flanks vela and Danns in the middle

Fortune favours the brave and all that, but I worry for us if it's Danns and Bannan as the midfield two.
It does beg the question - what was the point in signing Slavchev?

Maybe he's still settling in, not even on the bench!Nicko58 wrote:It does beg the question - what was the point in signing Slavchev?
Those players look fairly attacking anyway. Win or bust!
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Boots feel a bit tight. Maybe needed a bit more dubbin. Ref's got the whistle in and........
Away we go at the Maccaroni.......
....and.....four passes together and.....wallop, throw to them and......Alf blasts an early wide one, but not miles wide. To.....fro.....and.....Danns has a lash from thirty but right at the keeper.

Re: The Winter Hill Tale-Brighton home.
Gulls get an early corner as Wheater clears. And......cleared for a throw. Sounds like they're sharp as Amos has to save a header well. Corner again but cleared. Mills gets in the way. Texiera making a nuisance of himself and.....we block a couple and it ends up down the park.

Re: The Winter Hill Tale-Brighton home.
And......a break, Feeney, Vela, Alf.....and grabbed by the keeper. How about us getting a good early goal? Clough, Alf, and cleared but we get it back. All to and fro right now and......Clough, Ream, Danns, ........and they clear. Here we go, but lose it and now Texiera has another run but Clough tracks back and wins it. Here he comes again and.......he tries for a free but ref say...noooo.

Re: The Winter Hill Tale-Brighton home.
Some headers swapped and...Vela gets it to Wheater. Bannan feeds Feeney and.....we win a corner. Man says he should have done better but......it's cleared for another corner. And......ping and pong and ends up with the keeper. Feeney getting some unfavourable comment about the quality of his crosses from the mic man. Texiera again and....Wheater does well and then Ream and we get a goal kick. Here they come again and......now we break and....Clough can only get a throw. And.....it ends up with the net man again.

Re: The Winter Hill Tale-Brighton home.
We go....and commentator decides to have a chat about results as the Gulls attack and get a corner. And.....and.....cleared to nowhere for a throw. "Brighton making life difficult" claims the man, but in a sort of voice with a yawn. Come on lads, time we got one.....and now Feeney clears but they come again. Ince, Texiers and....Bannan does well. And.....Alf has a not so hot toch at a Bannan long ball. Heskey goes down and we get a free kick and......Bannan....and.....in it goes and.....goal kick to them. Wheater got it but was forced out. " Defence looks reasonably solid"....but what about the attack? That Texiera fella sets off again and.....and....Danns does well and sets Feeney off. Bannan, Alf......and the goalie wins it.

Re: The Winter Hill Tale-Brighton home.
We're accused of "good build up play" by the mic man, then.....it becomes a throw. And, the Gulls press but Amos clears. Danns, Bannan, Ream......and.....we get another corner as Heskey goes for it. Feeney and......Mills and......another corner. And.....and.....poor delivery again by Feeney. Now a throw and....Heskey tries a Wigan swivel.

Re: The Winter Hill Tale-Brighton home.
Now then. Throw them and.....the Texiera man approaches but it goes backwards. And now the commentator interrupts his story about Scotland to tell us they have a corner....and....somehow their keeper has it. We have a goal kick. Has lethargy set in? They sally forth again and.....Amos wallops one forward as comparisons with a morgue are made by the mic men. Ream gets an uppercut but rises from the dead to take the kick. Feeney sends one into the ether as the half time dressing room explosion looms. Mills fouls a Gull and....Mills clears as Alf get's a savaging midfield. Some groans in evidence as.......we get a throw and I'd dearly love to hear we're attacking and.....Ream and....he has a lash but at the keeper. Now they sally but weakly.......

Re: The Winter Hill Tale-Brighton home.
Ream's shot sounds like a first half highlight. Wheater clears and Clough gets hacked down but the ref doesn't send a birthday card. Bannan....and out for a goalkick. Throw them with three to go and.....Clough, ......and they get it. Mills clears to Alf but it ends a throw to them. Now Feeney sends another poor salvo over that goes to the keeper. Again they come and win a throw. Mills, Clough, Heskey.....gets booked for high foot. Crowd not pleased. The man claims it wasn't deliberate. Now.......we go and......Texiers gets booked for kicking the ball away. one minute added and.....get the lemons out and the ear-plugs in. 0-0...

Let's hope the first half was us taking a breather. We're at home and there's no reason we can't win this. COME ON WHITES....GET IN THERE.........
