The Oracle suggests he will be arriving pre-season on trial. He hasn't played many games in the last four years for Stoke and he didn't have one appearance last season. It would be wise to check him out first.Peter Thompson wrote:Rumour about Wilson Palacios joining on a free
Now this would be a good signing IMO if there is any truth in it....not sure why he'd come to Bolton, I would imagine other clubs would be interested and I would have also thought his wages would be way out of our league, good player though and only 30 years old
Also, Nixon suggests Madine done and Amos close.

Not played many games in four years
Has he been in semi retirement or has he been injured? Crikey, we'll have a mixed team of geriatrics and teenage kids!!

Isn't this the guy that whipped a transfer request out of his sock when Wigan went down, PT? Sounds like a Charlie Sizeable Potatoes to me - not one for the ensuing battle.Peter Thompson wrote:Rumour about Wilson Palacios joining on a free

I see Wayne Hennessey's available- not a bad option if we can't get Amos. Wonder how much Al-Habsi's on too..:

Palacios is the Honduran whose brother was kidnapped and murdered round about the time he left Wigan for Spurs (by way of Birmingham City). Might not be connected but he hasn't been quite the same player since.
Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!
Think you're thinking of Chimbonda there Bruce (with maybe an element of Defoe at West Ham).
I remember Palacios and Cattermole bossing a game at our place, but that's the only time I've ever seen him play well. Utterly dreadful technically, so if he's lost any of the energy and stamina to get around tackling people he'd be a no for me. If he's still got that, could be a decent addition as a Pratley replacement.

Palacios has a history of knee injuries and has barely played in the last four years.
There's no harm in Lennon getting him in to prove his fitness, but the last thing that we need is another crock and my first thoughts are that we should look elsewhere.

Isn't he the bloke who's mum talked to Harry Redkapp and convinced him to give him a start?

Was it Pascal Chimbonda who put in a transfer request as he left the pitch last day of the season.
Palaces was a fine player but 4 years out of first team action is a long time. How is Stuart Holden anyway ?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Palacios got £ 35.000 per week in Stoke, my guess he wants atleast £ 20.000 now.

I like the idea of Palacios. But I think that's about it.

Ben Amos is going to be our new keeper.
Gary Madine will be joining us.

Amos will quickly wipe out the disappointment of losing Boggers. Looks like Craig Morgan is on his way too. Plus the top Twitterbantz from Madine involving reality TV 'stars' with large breasticles, all tremendously exciting.jaffka wrote:Ben Amos is going to be our new keeper.

Y'know that old Carlsberg tv advert where there's a phone ringing and no-one knows where the noise is coming from. Then, after a while, they find a dusty, cob-webbed room where it's plain no-one has had reason to be for a long, long time .... & it turned out to be their Complaints Department.
That's this thread, that is.
Apart from the no-one complaining bit.
