We have pace both sides and Davies and Clayton who can run at defenders and create space. We need a finisher, a 6 yard box man, an Ian Rush, Gary Lineker, dare I say it Michael Rickets. Jk fits that bill.jonnycooper wrote:I know he's not abad player! But I'd prefer someone a bit younger and quicker than Kermorgant!!

Apparently, they're old hat and not required in the modern game anymore...Bijou Bob wrote:We have pace both sides and Davies and Clayton who can run at defenders and create space. What's Ivan Klasnic doing right now?Bijou Bob wrote:We have pace both sides and Davies and Clayton who can run at defenders and create space. I'd be a little wary of Kermorgant in that whilst he has shown to be a decent player in this division at both Charlton and Bournemouth, he is 33 and certainly at Bournemouth he was playing in a team that was getting the best out of all those players and it may be that he was a beneficiary of other players form rather than his own. That's not me saying he's rubbish, far from it, but I'd just be wary of thinking he could slot in here and bang in the same number of goals he did with Bournemouth last season (though he has hit double digits in every season he's played in the Championship so what do I know...).
I'd be relatively happy with either him or Vetokele though...

I don't think either would do it for the money...
Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!
Klasnic has retired; according to Wikipedia, he's only been involved in 3 games since he left us in 2012.
Kermogant would be a class loan signing.

More worrying are comments regarding his fitness - thought this guy was stepping out on saturday

Poor excuse. A gentleman's wash in the sink a couple of times a day and a course of antibiotics does the trick in no time.

Anyway, Bournemouth's No. 7's brother has just sent me this:
"Callum Wilson has been ruled out for 6 months today so Bournemouth may want to keep hold of him.
If you do sign him he will score goals"
May the bridges I burn light your way

Is that what you and Lennon get up to down The Victoria Inn?LeverEnd wrote:A gentleman's wash in the sink

Think we are seeing the peril of relying on the loan window for main strikers. Obviously it is where we are now and can't be helped but eventually this catches up with you.
It has got us out of jail in the past with Le Fondre and Juke (although both were January half season jobs) but this time it is just very hard to sign someone of the required quality as clubs want to hang on to younger players now and more experienced ones are seemingly needed as cover.
Thankfully we may get away with it with Clayton being back and looking sharp and Madine finally scoring one. But beyond that, please for the love of god, somebody invest into the club sooner rather than later.

It's a dangerous game.. Good loan players who positively the level of the team as a whole can cause issues.
They raise the expectation of the fans for the next season, even tough you start out with a weaker squad..
also, look at Everton last season.. They had to spend £35m, just to keep the team the same as the previous season.
Like BWFCI said, it can be great in the short term, but it does tend to fvck you over if it doesn't result in promotion

I know Dodoo scored a few goals in the cup recently. Not sure if he's what we should be looking at right now. I'd rather have Kermogant.
Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!
Great goal. The amount of pressure Bournemouth put on the ball is crazy.Bruce Rioja wrote:Really?jonnycooper wrote:I know he's not abad player! But I'd prefer someone a bit younger and quicker than Kermorgant!!

I childishly sniggered at his name when he scored in the cup.
Can't see him doing much if we get him, but you never know. I'd rather get someone more experienced unless we can get some shit=hot kid from a bigger club than Leicester.
