If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

Get him to send his cv in...if he's demanding more than a tenner a week though he's got no chance

Wasn't it worked out that Gartside was on less than the first teamers?

But while we're on the subject, I wonder if Eddie has yet rued giving the manager a three-year contract when the talk had been of 12 months.

I reckon we'll end up with another striker. I'm fairly certain it will be due to us getting someone whose wages are being paid by another club however.

Left the game early. John Mcginlay was on the radio saying that Lennon has money for one player. But is being cautious as according to JM Lennon feels this player has to make a difference or we are in serious trouble.

Sounds identical to our previous manager, in that Lennon doesn't think the squad he has assembled is good enough to stay up.

Asked whether there is enough quality in his side, he said: “I don’t think there is. There is a real lack of quality at times."
yeah well you signed them all mr L.

also id imagine trying to persuade a player to sign in the current predicament will be as difficult as the financial issues...?

ive been apathetic about the Wanderers for a long time now, but this morning im feeling genuinely upset by it all. terrible times.

It was, after all Freedman what said it. I don't think he's quite got a grasp on reality. Maybe he's talking net not gross, after tax, NI, pension, bung slush funds, and child benefit deducted.

Yes I saw that, I remember when he came in it being reported that he was on 'league 1 wages', however much that is. Prescient planning?

It really isn't surprising

He was at Millwall

Last time I looked, they weren't flush with cash

Yeah, but let's not forget Caps - this is the club that trebled Megson's wages to go from third-tier to top-flight. That handed out Prem-sized wages in the Champo to four unwanted players (Knight, Ricketts, Andrews, Mills).

I do think that by the time Freedman was signing Trotter (permanently), our expenditure had come down a lot. I do also imagine it's come down since. But I don't think we've got players as bad as the points return makes out.

No, we should be doing better

And I don't buy it that Trotter is shit, either

He passes well and is as likely as any of our midfielders to score (the whole midfield is pedestrian so its not like you can just carry one like him)

But he's not on silly money

Aye, he does pass the oppo players with ease as they are on their way towards our net!

It also doesn't say that they were going to pay all his salary. Perhaps they agreed to only pay 60% of it to keep it under £10k.

Re: Trotter - I've been trying to decipher what they're saying on some Forest forum (having negotiated the dialect "you might as well tekk 'em orl off and pick team art crard", and overcome the slanders: Boltons fans apparently saying when he plays, they lose. Then again they lose most of the time regardless so..) and it appears they believe that the excuse of some technicality due to the FFP embargo is smoke and mirrors and that the real reason is that the club (Forest) got stung once when a manager who was getting sacked brought in Lee Peltier and they tried to send him back but got stuck with him, and the rumours are that their owner is about to get rid of Freedman and doesn't want a similar situation with an unwanted Trotter!

...which is all very well except it was only a one month loan (initially at least).
