Not a bad move. I think he could be decent at this level but he just didn't seem quite there yet in his appearances for us. Hopefully regular game time will do him wonders.
Yep. .... & Plymouth (the club) MUST have asked about Kellett. So what's the plan there now ?

Was listening to talksport earlier and I thought the same!

It's one thing if there's nothing else at all on the table, but in that case I'm worried as to why! I know there's a lot more cash in the Champo than (say) the Spanish second-tier but a)are we included in that? and b)even if we are, is it enough more for one year to be worth the upheaval (and likely re-heaval)?

I'm not suggesting a whip-round but it's all relative.
I could be mistaken but I was under the impression that the club owned some apartments in or near Manchester? I seem to remember reading something to that effect when Dougie was signing all of his old Palace mates on loan.
Bannan was living in the hotel so don't think so?

so....correct me if im wrong number 9 is still available. That should defiantly leave position for one more player, preferably attack.

He arrived under Lennon, it was when Dougie was in charge and I'll be fecked if I'm digging out the thread where it popped up. I just recall reading on here that we had a number of loan players staying at some flats in Manchester, so thought I'd ask if anyone either knew or could remember too.
They stayed in a flat in Didsbury

Moritz was at Deansgate 1.

One of our defenders is now at Beetham / Hilton Tower.

Think Man Utd, Man City and us have a few flats in each ... could be wrong though.

Read somewhere that Andrea Orlandi is training with us. Good little player.

He's about 6ft tall but I agree that he's a decent player - decent skill level & movement and did well at Swansea...but we have so many midfielders NL will need to get shut of 1 or 2 over the weekend.

Also, if we continue to play long ball to Madine, there is no point bringing in skilful pass & move type midfield players like Orlandi

And a striker should still be NL's priority....

Reading his wiki page suggests that he's also a winger. Could be brought in with that in mind. He's also played as a striker a some points during his career. He's the new Paul Warhurst

Read in the papers today that Watford gaffer Quique Sanchez Flores says he wants/needs to loan out a few players - they're something like five over the PL limit for non-homegrown players. Worth a phone call.

Worth asking though. I'm sure it will depend on whether we could shift either Kellett, Mido or Trotter? Or all three? Or in that time we manage to get a buyer for the club

Yeah, the only way you ever find out is by asking...I probably wouldn't suggest any of the above as make-weights in the deal though! :-)

given the paucity of our resources - then I would have thought we cannot afford to buy/sign players who are only going to be bit-part/fringe players - as per our discussions about signing another goalie...

surely the same is true for forwards/strikers...

we have signed Madine, Heskey, Silva and Dobbie since last season

we also have Clough, Clayton, Eaves and Woolery

we have signed/loaned FOUR to add to the FOUR we already have.

if we are still after another striker - then that seems like a lot of cash/wages tied up in players for whom there are not that many spaces on the teamsheet...

(you might argue that they are not all strikers - but these are the ones listed by the club as "forwards") even if you say they are summat else - there are still limited berths for them..)

it's risky to put your eggs in one basket - but (admittedly with hindsight) would one decent goal-scorer have been worth foregoing Dobbie, Madine and Heskey's wages? or are they on such tiny peanuts that such a calculation is irrelevant?

Agree to a point but when you've only scored one goal in five matches the indication is that the strikers we have aren't doing the business. PLus I'm sure if the scouts dug deep enough you'd be able to see that there is still a handful of decent strikers available on 'frees' (necessitating offloading Trotter, Mido, Eaves etc). My point being that if the Bucket Shakers could hand a trial to Vaz Te then it shouldn't be out of the realms of reason that we could afford a punt. (He has a pretty good scoring rate in the Championship)
