RIP life long supporter
It's with great sadness to report the passing away of my great friend Ken Schofield. Friends from junior school all the way through our growing up. Lifelong supporter of Bolton Wanderers. First heart attack leaving the Rebok/Macron after a spurs game many years ago. Suffered poor health ever since but always routed for our team. His body give up the fight this morning. Miss him greatly.

Rest in peace.
Rest in peace.
Re: RIP life long supporter
jaffka, no he didn't. Jonny ( his son ) does lots of youth football coaching in the area, also a long suffering supporter to most home and away games.

RIP, Sir. Condolences to family and friends.
Re: RIP life long supporter
Thank you for all your messages, I'm sure the supporting family will read this thread and hopefully find some comfort knowing us BW supporters do stick together and feel for each other good or bad. Even had a PM from Paul Fletcher MBE, footballer from way back who grew up with us. CEO of B/W during the stadium development. Shame he scored more for Burnley after his record transfer fee, never forgive him for that.
Re: RIP life long supporter
Ken's funeral is to be held at Howe Bridge crematorium Atherton, 2-30 Wednesday.

Sorry lads & lasses. I'm sure you can help me out. Will be arriving at the Premier Inn (stadium) late Tuesday night approximately 9-9.30. Need to feed myself and wife. Can anyone recommend anywhere close by for a nice meal, not fussed about which nationality it is, but good food and service. Close enough so I can have a drink and if required the wife can drive back.

It's a short walk to a host of eateries (some good some not so) where you are. Harvesters is a spit away but if you walk over to the Middlebrook (other side of the stadium) there is a Nandos/ Bella Italia/ Frankie and Bennies/ Coast to Coast/ KFC/ MacDonalds etc. etc. etc.
Re: RIP life long supporter
Thank you Gary but can you recommend any? Another thing I thought of is what time do these places close? My misses is a grumpy bitch if not fed. She doesn't read this site so I can say what I want.

I recommend the Rivington Bar and Grill just next to Blackrod Station and about 5 minutes in a cab.
The others are generic Italian/ American food outlets, but within walking distance.
You pays your money.......
Re: RIP life long supporter
That sounds right up our street. Long time since I did anything or anyone up at Rivington. Thank you.

Not quite 'up' Rivington.

But definitely recommended.
