You'd have to like a shit pun at some sort of Olympic standard, to even begin to contemplate that one...Prufrock wrote:F*ck me. Sorry, I should have gone with the "vague literary quote that isn't necessarily relevant but I want to show off to people that I read a book once" option.Bruce Rioja wrote:I feared that that's what it was. Lennon's pre-match presser, https://twitter.com/OfficialBWFC/status ... 7328969728 et passim
The disaster is one that is not really touched on much in football, but it means a lot to the people of Bolton and to the club. It is probably the darkest hour in the club's history and it needs to be remembered. This shirt is a good way of doing that.
Last week is a setback as we were making progress. It is now a test of character to fight back, especially against Brighton. Away from home we've struggled for some reason. That is something we are all studying and we want to find a way to change that.
Dorian Dervite won't be fit for another week or two but David Wheater is fit and he'll come back into contention.
Max Clayton will also be in the squad. He's played in a few games behind closed doors and looks ready.
Emile Heskey's injury isn't as bad as first thought. He might not be ready for the weekend but he'll be back training next week.
Darren Pratley has played one competitive game since January. He's been a loss. The injury is worse than we first thought. He's back on the grass now though. He needs games and won't be too far off. The sooner we can get him back the better.
Gary Madine is working hard in training. He's a good player but is lacking a bit of confidence. He has our full support.
Re: Will we open up to the Hove's fitness? Brighton 26/9
With Derik suspended & Dervite out, we are short on centre backs again so Wheater coming back is certainly good news if he's fit enough goes straight into the starting 11.
The BN has an article on this - http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wa ... rers_boss/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Looks like Lennon doesn't have much faith with the younger centre backs, if he is happy to play a vomiting Prince ahead of them.

Isn't the new pisartist gonna be available too?
New striker ain't happening is it. Madine back up front. Davies in the clough role. Vela or spearing added to the middle.

Bit harsh on NL, he's had a good look at Finney and Taylor. Report says he asked and Prince said he was fit to carry on, so...Tails07 wrote:With Derik suspended & Dervite out, we are short on centre backs again so Wheater coming back is certainly good news if he's fit enough goes straight into the starting 11.

They're top of the league and in pretty decent form (although weren't they roughly in our position 12 months ago, a few places above the relegation area?). Only consolation would be that they seem to concede the odd goal here and there, but given that our strikers can't hit a barn door at the moment I reckon that we'll lose or scrape a draw at best.
2-0 them,1-1if we perform well.
a lot more if we don't!

These match threads are getting dreary; even the opportunity for a good pun is being passed up. Next season, I'll start a single thread "The Next Match" to cover all 46 league games and the 2 cup games.
EDIT: 3 cup games (we'll have the Johnstone's too).

This isn't a division where you can dominate lots of games. It is coming out the right side of fine margins more often than not.throwawayboltonian wrote:A man can dream can't he? I was (gladly) wrong about Wolves with a similar prediction. I haven't watched any of the Brighton games but from the reports I've read they don't seem to be...convincing? Good statistics against Rotherham and Ipswich, but the others seem quite balanced and rather narrow wins. Even against Blackburn they dominated possession, but actual chances were balanced. Admittedly Hemed and LuaLua are worrying me, both seem to be on a good scoring run.thebish wrote:(fixed)throwawayboltonian wrote:Feeling rather pessimistic about this one. Besides, can you not call on that sky fella of yours to help us out?
The best teams will probably sneak a load of wins rather than dominating and winning 3-0 every other week.

Sorry to disagree. There are obvious teams who will be fighting out the top instant promotion places (we ain't in them).
There are teams who more than likely be mid table teams...
And there are a few which are spot on certain to drop like a man measured up to hang.
We are perilously close to the dividing line betwixt category 2 and 3.

There are some teams with better players than others or stronger squads sure. But there isn't a lot between most teams. Games can be very tight and hinge on one or two chances.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Sorry to disagree. in our early games we had dozens of chances - but never found that hinge!!BWFC_Insane wrote:There are some teams with better players than others or stronger squads sure. Could one of our technically gifted members not fit "Orpheous in the underworld" (Can-can) music to the bit here they're stepping over the hurdles. Made for it.
