A Hard Day's Night by Lennon & McCarthy (A) Ipswich 3/11/15

Quick, harness the shire horses. Time to plough a new furrow.

I confidently predict a 0-1 win. (do I 'eckers like).

Will the Brattan be unleashed?

John says:

Luke Brattan hasn't played much football. He hasn't had a pre-season but he should be involved for the Under-21s today.

They haven't won in 7. We can't score (or make more than 3 chances per 90 mins). 0-0.

It's a shame we don't have any Scandinavian strikers anymore. Madine and Heskey may not be able to score but I bet a Norwegian would.

We couldn't score if we played eight days a week....

Think I'll let you others Tell me what you see, You wont see me.
Are we in League 2 yet - Three seasons and we'll be away to Chesham

I quite fancy going to this, but by the time the game finishes, it'll be difficult to get a ticket to Ryde

You'll just have to wait until Neil Lennon's Biography comes out. Not the First Edition, mind, but one of the later print runs.

Then you'll be a Paperback Ryde-er.

Presser, via Twitter
I'm pleased we got a clean sheet, won a point away from home and have climbed up a couple places in the table.

There's a good atmosphere around the place. The players are in good spirits and we are confident that we'll be fine. The performances have always been there, we just need to convert draws into wins. We've got a good run of games coming up.

Max Clayton has never been a prolific goalscorer, but he'll bring goals to the team. We've missed him. It's good to have him back.

Shola has been a great asset. He jarred his knee on Saturday but we're hoping he'll be fit for the game.

If we can get both ends of the pitch right at the same time then we're going to do some damage to teams. We've had plenty of possession in games. We just need a little bit more quality in the final third. We're really motivated.

Prince will be back and in contention to play. We need to assess Derik and see if he can make it. He took a knock to the knee.

Luke Brattan hasn't played much football. He hasn't had a pre-season but he should be involved for the Under-21s today. He can handle the ball, is good with both feet and can pass the ball. He just needs to get used to the English game.

Ipswich have real firepower in attack, while Mick is one of the best managers in the division. It is a daunting challenge.

I really hope we can work it out. Because I don't want us in league 2 when I'm 64. I want us to get back to where we were.

That *is* where we were, although in those days it was the Barclays League Fourth Division. (We'd been relegated from the Today League Third Division through the play-offs, but you try telling kids that and they'll hit you with a smartphone.)
