Can we Marc Bolton down for Solid Gold Eastleigh Action?
Eastleigh Away 09/01/2016
God knows with this. I'd love to say a rabble rousing win with some of the fringe players but I think a disappointing 2-1 loss.
Good luck to anyone who's going btw.

... and that, by the way, runs it a very close second!

Can we not have dates in the title? Now I have to go to the first post each time my tiny mind forgets the date, which is shockingly often these days

You've fallen for that three divisional difference thingy. The soggy earthen lumps and dips will redistribute shots, passes and player's ankles in a more stochastic pattern than our Neil would allow for... 0-3 to them if we play the kiddies, a turgid 0-1 to them if we don't.HMX wrote:2-0 to the Whites.

I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen, but I'm determined to enjoy it. After all, there is a chance I may never see my beloved team again.
As for the line-up, it's a chance to try three or four different players who haven't been in the first XI. Not because we can pick who we like - defeat is a very real option here - but because we've hardly excelled with that first XI and with a very uncertain January upon us some players may wish to impress. And not just the kids.

I'm greatly saddened that circumstance is against me and I won't be joining you there.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen, but I'm determined to enjoy it. After all, there is a chance I may never see my beloved team again.
Forget for a moment all the bollocks going on just now, this match, for me, is what football is all about. Last year I went to Stamford Bridge for the Egg Cup game, I'd swap any number of that type of match for an away day at a non league team in the FA Cup.

I'm lucky to have already seen at least two that I can remember - Witton and Emley (although the latter hosts cheated by having it at Leeds Road). Also seen us against Barrow, Sutton Coldfield and Gretna (technically away but actually at home.)Enoch wrote:Forget for a moment all the bollocks going on just now, this match, for me, is what football is all about. Ah no, I'm well aware it could go that way. If I don't have my blind optimism, I don't have much else at the moment.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:You've fallen for that three divisional difference thingy. Fairy'nuff. Hang on in there, even BWFCi is less suicidal once the concrete reality sets in.HMX wrote:Ah no, I'm well aware it could go that way. Rest Clough. Pick two or three of the kids and an otherwise 1st XI. See if they're up to it in a team that doesn't have 45 changes. Hopefully we'll win, but we'll be needing one or two to make it next year.

Woolley at the very least. With Thomas on the bench. Otherwise an essentially "first XI" as they can hardly be tired.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Bolton 5/4 to win. Is it really that bad? (Don't answer that).

Was thinking this: he's worth less cup-tied. Trotter for Vela, Casado for Moxey... Rachubka for Amos?Prufrock wrote:Rest Clough.

And another thing, why the hell have we got a third goalie on the books if we don't even utilise our second string goalie???Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Was thinking this: he's worth less cup-tied. Trotter for Vela, Casado for Moxey... Rachubka for Amos?Prufrock wrote:Rest Clough.

I'd keep Moxey in, as he's currently our best player. Balls to potential injury.
If we go a goal down, we'll lose. A goal up and we might draw

They'll play like it's the World cup Final, our lot like "Are we getting paid for this?" Oh how I want to be way wrong...A very hopeful 3-1 win to us.
