I'd Rother be enamoured of our Neil... Rotherham (H) 6/2/16

We need about 12 points from this.

In the words of Bruce... Feck you and the horse you rode in on!
I've stuck the H in an appropriate place. And I've rejigged the bleeder - I was, after all, answering the bugle call of distress that Tango had blown, matey*

* I am in this instance using that in a sarcastic pejorative manner...

I'd rather (rother) be enamoured of our Neil - as opposed to their Neil, Lennon v Redfearn.
Plus we are channelling the immortal Karen here...

Relax there, Twilight. The only games we win are the ones to which I can't attend. This is one of 'em. ;)

NL on Spearing and Davies (source: BN)
They have huge roles to play. We have got young players who need to be nurtured through games, learning as they go along. I need the more experienced ones to get hold of them and give them a chance.

Jay had his best game for a long, long time at Wolves. He was excellent and for 90 minutes he did exactly what we needed him to. I’d had a wee chat with him last week because I think he’d been lacking confidence. But that showed you, it’s in there.

We gave Mark Davies the captaincy because Darren Pratley had been injured and that little bit of responsibility has brought something out of him again. If we are going to get out of this we need the senior players to step up more often.

We cannot affect what people are saying about us, or what is happening off the pitch. People didn’t give us a chance at Wolves and we got a point. It wasn’t a win that I think we deserved, but it was a small step in the right direction.

They are still writing us off now but the players have to bring it on board. I said to the players before that game that no-one is giving you a chance – go and prove people wrong. I hope that is sinking in now.
NL on playing Rotherham (source: BN)
I can’t help but feel we owe them one. Every game is big for us from here on in, but especially this one. It’s a good motivation for us, or at least it should be. If we beat Rotherham we are right back in the mix so we have to go into it in a positive frame of mind.

I hope things are turning for us. But let’s say I have had a few false dawns with this group and I don’t want to count my chickens.
Wellington speaks (source: BN)
We know the [Rotherham] game is very important. We have to work. We have to believe we can play good football and take three points at home. We have to enjoy the game more, pass the ball, play with confidence, because we have a good team and I think we will finish this season higher in the table.

I am here until the end of the season and I don’t speak with the other team. I think of this club. When I have finished the season I will speak to them. I concentrate on Bolton, continue to work and help the club. They gave me an opportunity to play in England and opened a door for me. They said they needed my help. I have two years more at Arsenal but my head is here and I believe we will stay in this league.

I have played in Spain before but here it is more difficult. The players are stronger and harder. My injury was hard. But now I am back and I want to help the team more. Of course I think we will survive. I believe the team has good players but we need more luck.
Steve Walford's on pre-match presser duties, starting right about now. Will bring you those quotes when it's done.

On paper, Davies, Pratley and Spearing should be an outstanding midfield in this division. Really, it should be. I know at times that Pratley can look like a carthorse who's never seen a football before, Spearing disinterested, and Davies either anonymous or simply not there through injury, but they've all done it at some time in their careers.

I remember when we signed Pratley a few of us, including my good self (oh we were young and foolish!) proclaimed Pratley's signing as a coup. The lad had been a revelation at Swansea - he was an archetypal modern midfielder, pacy, strong, athletic and had goals in him. Davies hasn't just done it at this level, he's looked a world beater (in small doses, admittedly) in the Premier League.

They should be a good midfield.

As for that quote from Lennon, he was doing oh so well until the last few barbed words. Not really confidence building is it really? "Yeah, we could do it, but who knows with this lot?"

Walford presser, per @OfficialBWFC.
We've got no further injuries from Tuesday. Zach Clough isn't ready yet. We'll see how Gary Madine and Darren Pratley are later today. Injuries are frustrating but it's part of the game. Zach Clough is a goalscorer. We had a lot of good build-up play on Tuesday, and soon he'll be back to finish them in the box.

I thought we dominated Wolves. To come back the way we did in the last ten minutes was brilliant. We showed great character. We haven't had a lot of luck this season, but it evens itself out over the course of the season.

We can't lose this game tomorrow. The boys understand that. It's going to be a tough game. We didn't turn up the last time [at] Rotherham. We weren't in the game. It's one of the worst performances since I've been here.

Wellington had never played at this level before. He's got a lot of ability and we're wanting him to show a bit more. As long as we keep creating chances, I think we've got a chance. We are creating chances, we just need to get on the end of them.

Know what you mean but to be completely fair, I wasn't there and am quoting the BN second-hand. Might not have been that he said those last then flounced out - he could have got all motivational again.
