Re: Match thread Blackpool (A) LC1R - 9th August 7.45pm
I'm taking Parky's "hopefully he'll be alright" on Clayton to be about Blackpool rather than in general. Proctor might need the minutes (and the showcase). Beevers seems to be his defensive mainstay so PP might want a bit of continuity – or he could play Derik in the middle (despite the pre-season noise) and young Spooner at RB. Could also give Honeyball a game at LB but I'd be surprised if he goes all *that* young.BWFC_Insane wrote:Think that is close if he risks Proctor, Clayton and Beevers. Could see all three left out and some real youngsters in there possibly.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:
All being well, I'd be intrigued to see summat like this:

Woolery........Clayton........Walker

A £10'er to the first person on here to have "Honeyball" on the back of their shirt.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Match thread Blackpool (A) LC1R - 9th August 7.45pm
Parky, per BN:
Also per BN, Parky on his Bradford cup runs:
Marc Iles says "Derik Osede, Ben Amos, Alex Finney, Tom Walker, Kaiyne Woolery and Liam Trotter are expected to be drafted in as Parkinson protects a handful of players who are feeling their way back to full fitness."I’ve got to be honest and say the league is the most important, which it is. But I’ll play players who need minutes, put a bit of freshness in the team, but I don’t expect the effort levels to drop.
I want the Bolton fans to drive away from the game having seen a performance with just as much commitment as they saw Saturday. If that’s enough to win the game, time will tell, but we need that 11 to try and maintain that momentum.
You get a good draw in the next round it helps in terms of finances. Is that the be-all and end-all for us? No. But I still think this is a big game for us and we’ve got to put in a performance.
Also per BN, Parky on his Bradford cup runs:
I got asked all the way up to Wembley whether it would eclipse anything I’d done in my career but I think when you step away from it, promotions are more cherished as a manager than cup runs.
I think cup competitions can be good and the memories we made at Bradford will live with the fans for a very long time, it can build confidence and much-needed revenue as well.
That’s why we’ll pick a team that can win at Blackpool, provided we make sure our application is right, and then, of course, you’ve got a bench that can come on and change the game.

When we first got relegated from the Prem, didn't we have some Blackpool herbert on here telling us how they were favourites for promotion and were going to storm the championship? I wonder how he's getting on these days?

No. Parky said that he left him out because he didn't want to take a chance on him coming back before he's ready. It sounds as if it might be a few weeks before we see him.bobo the clown wrote:Odd. Wasn't he on the bench last weekend ?TANGODANCER wrote:What's the spec on Clayton?

Man says 1500 White fans have done the seaside trip. Sounds like our own Stan Boardman might be doing the chat.

Wilson and Moxey in early action and the noise level sounds impressive. Mic man say the pitch is in good nick then Trotter gets keeper robbed of a half chance. Bevers and Moxey set Davies off but to no avail. Moxey again and....long to hope land. Throw us and talk of a " strong wind" .Am I hearing Michael Caine? Walker, Taylor, Derrick and Trotter all metioned...we get a cross in but cleared. Free kick them ......They visit and Beevers conceeds a corner. And....then heads it clear.

....bit of possesion and we get a free kick via Walker. And.....Walker and....Taylor....Beevers, Derick....and still we have it.
Whites back in possession and.....sends one in that's cleared. Moxey throw and...cleared. Finney gives them a free kick. Some to and from ends with Amos but back they come again. Time for a goal lads....? Proctor, Davies, Deryk, Proctor, Taylor (just getting name practise). Finney "shoulder charges" a tangerine as the fans give voice. Moxey wallops one over for a goal kick them.
