Mic lads chat, game goes on and Thorpe clears.Ramirez? sets them off, Jomes has a lash and Alnwick has to tip it round the post for a corner. Spearing clears and we wind up with a throw. Careful lads, keep the concentration. Coventry owe a lot to their keeper tonight. Reid wins a free kick. Mic lads have a chat then the visitors sally and we scramble it clear. Ramirez comes again and Alnwick has to make a "brilliant save" to keep us in front. Corner them and Vela gives one away for a handball. Henry and Taylor replace Zac and ....? Ameobi.....

Their free kick is kept by them and they get a throw now. Lets go to the Bury game.......and then back to us....

And.....Alnwick flapped at one and gsve us a flutter."Panic stations" claims mic man. Get a grip Bolton, get sorted. Now they have a corner off a Ramirez? effort. A free header hits Spearing and we get away with a bit of murder. Sordell eases the tenion by giving us a free kick. Without our ball magicians, can we conjure anything with ten to g?

Throw us now, Taylor and....long and......and...Wilson, Thorpe and we go backwards. Spearing does well and mic man claims we have lost our heads. COME ON YOU WHITES......Henry and.....it beats everybody. Jones tries, Spearing challenges, Ramirez now and a throw them. A long one and.....no, it's short to Reid. They come again and Alnwick has to save for a corner. What's happened here? They get another corner and micman has a nagative mumble as Reid lets us off by firing one into the stands. Bury go one down with nine men.

And.....back at the Macron James Henry misses a chance and they win a corner. We clear as Reid leves the fray for McBean? Corner them and......Lamirez/Ramirez fires one well wide. Lets be the ones to score and then the pressure disappears. Come on Madine, be a hero......Throw us now and (five and a half to go) Vela, Henry, Wilson, Vela and Henry can't take advantage. Mic men chat, a long ball reaches Sordell but Wilson heads clear for a throw which is a foul one and we get it. Throw them (Coventry full of beans says micman) Goal kick us and a bit worrying for us (me) Are we defending our lead and hoping to hang on? Ohhh, Derik blocks and Vela clears. Sordell wins a corner and we need some cool heads. COME ON LADS.....and we clear and then Jones mess up a corner and Proctor replaces the Machine.....

Sheesh, that was a nerve shredder...No matter, a win, three points and that'll do. In fairness, it sounds like their keeper saves them from a much worse score.... :oyea: :oyea: :oyea:

Another clean sheet and another 3 points on the board. If this carries on the 31st December is going to be one hell of a fixture.

7 wins in 8 and we've only conceded twice in those games.

With the exception of the Blackpool league cup game, whenever we've scored in a game this season, we've taken something from it.
''Amazing! Out of nothing Bolton are level. A quick throw, Kevin Nolan keeps play alive in the box and finds Kevin Davies on the left who lashes a shot under Oliver Kahn.''

20 minutes in I thought we were going to get that panful we've been threatening. Spent the last 20 willing us to hang on.

You can tell it's nervy when you're watching the official Twitter account - not quite Pravda, but certainly positive - and 14 of the last 16 action descriptions, from the 65th minutes onwards, are at Alnwick's end. (The two of ours: one was Henry's curling shot, the other was Proctor running it into the corner.)

Which is all nice and bonny and I'm very glad we can see things out, but you wonder what'd happen against a team with a decent striker. Winning by fine margins is a useful habit, but it's not always going to be possible to scrape by.

Still: onwards. And it's not like the other sides up the top are always winning by streets. 6 of our 11 wins have been by one goal; for Bradford it's 6 of their 9, for Blades 8 of their 11, even Scunny it's 6 of 13, so they're all at it. Look at Blades tonight against the bucket-shaking shitbags up the road. At the risk of enraging Norm, this one might be tight all the way...

For second it might be! Scunny look streets ahead - winning at a place we looked nowt like t'other week. Be interesting what a couple of injuries (like ours) would do to them.

Question for the match goer's: Did their keeper really pull off several miraculous saves, as the commentator indicated? My reason for asking is because I'm wondering if Parky told the team to defend the lead, not to commit forward and as long as we stayed in front just play the percentages. Nothing wrong with the logic if he did, because with Scunthorpe, Bradford and Sheffield winning, we can't risk them getting away from us. I reckon there'll be more matches like tonight than any Barcelona displays. We won, got the points and kept another clean sheet. All in all, how much more can we ask?
