Interesting comments from 'Howard', thanks for posting.

Seattle Sounders have four owners. One is Bill Gates' Microsoft co-founder, or rather his estate, because he died. Another is a comedian. Another is a Hollywood producer. The majority owner has been there since 2002, before Sounders were MLS. Interesting.

Bassini is far from first choice, and he may be as skint as Ken is (although if so, he could buy other clubs cheaper). It may be that he wants to flip the club, but again, it's hard to do in League One. All this "three years to Prem" nonsense doesn't help his egg/face juxtaposition, but from what we hear, embarrassment is the least of our worries, and to be honest we've kinda hardened to it over the last few years.

Main thing is to have a club next season. More likely with Bassini than Ken, I'd say. If anyone else wants to show their hand, they need to do so quickly - or, I guess, wait a year if they too think Bassini's a bust.

BTW FWIW Nixon insists there's another party watching and waiting but as yet undiscussed (ie not Basran/Brittan's Football Ventures, Kenyon's lot or the Khilji fanstasists). Obviously they need to step forward sharpish...

Exactly. Piffle. A club with suddenly unlimited funds in our position in the Championship (us?) has absolutely no way of planning the future even if the Aga Khan rolled up at the UniBol with a gold-plated cheque book. Even the top half dozen clubs in the Premiership, the Bundesliga, La Liga or anywhere else cannot guarantee that regardless of a team full of Messis' Hazards' or Neymars. The top managers in the game are as likely to get the boot as the bottom unless they deliver the goods. All the stats mean as little as nothing or the bookies would be out of business before the seasons started. Failing is just as much an option as winning, as in all sport. Let's get real and face facts; it'll be a long hard slog even if we survive.

So. Howard the Duck is a frontman for a Middle Eastern concern who were involved with Seattle Sounders. And he used to drink in a few pubs in Bolton.

Lived in Harwood and drank mainly in the Seven Stars and The Crofters, occasionally in the No Name.

I have this 4ucker's card marked already.

Howard is allegedly a Cinzano drinking woman.... :-) Her "consortium" is allegedly made up of people who are also involved in the Dubai Royal Football Fund (Bahraini person(s)), as well as the Seattle link. Allegedly she works in PR. Of course when we're doing deals at work, we often use PR to put stories out onto employee forums - especially the details of the finer print relating to the deal dynamics...all a bit bizarre.

That said it's been very entertaining and clearly based on a good level of knowledge/research around EFL Rules, Winders Court rules, the Accounts - yadda, yadda - all of which most PR people are generally close to (not).

Oh I launched my own "Official Bid" earlier by tweeting MacKenzie Bezos and asking if she fancied a pint in Harwood.

Yeah - I'd want to be sure she was after me for the person I am, rather than just my good looks.

I'm guessing that it's not just me whose immediate take on this is that we haven't paid the service provider then?!

With tinfoil hat on, I hope they've not lost our financial data... You would think we'd have key stadium management services on backup/DR servers anyhow...

I think somebody's hacked us and stolen all the player's wages....no bother, we'll have insurance against those sort of things...provided we've paid the premiums etc....

All the stories & rumour coming out of the club makes things feel like a definite 'end of days' scenario. The IT thing being the modern day equivalent of a mysterious individual seen leaving the ground holding a petrol canister. Anyone remember Navada?

Come midweek if the club hasn't been sold I just can't see us being able to afford to continue.

Aye, I remember that Harry, and also the Top Storey Club. Went to the Navada a lot when younger. All the hot dog carts from outside Burnden were parked at the end of the building on Spa Road near the Gypsies Tent. Strange affair. Had a piano bar opposite (was it Hawthorne's?)
