My AFC Wimbledon supporting mate says word at their end is that we're interested in their centre forward Tom Elliott.

According to wiki, he's 26, originally from Leeds and stands at an impressive 6'4". It also says he signed for AFC in 2015, but the length of his contract was not revealed at the time.

Although he swept the board at the supporters' awards this season, my friend isn't convinced he could perform consistently at the level required for the Championship.

Scored at our place. This local news report from March says he's a free agent this summer, backed up by his own quotes here.

The goal at our place was one of only two he scored after Jan 2nd. Only got four assists all season too (half of them in one game, against Fleetwood). Of his 13 goals, four were in the FA Cup, against minnows Curzon Ashton, Sutton United and Bury.

Parky likes his wingers and just noticed this guy has been without a club. With a full pre-season to get him fit and having played in the Championship already...I give you Charles N'Zogbia

Good shout, PW. Having done a little more research he hasn't had a club since 2015/16 season. Which was a bit of a shock

Exactly what I was thinking. Could be the old "you didn't play at all last season. You could relaunch your career here" but pay him what we can afford rather than what he thinks he's worth?

Yeah, I thought the "underlying reason" he hadn't been snapped up was "being a bit shit". That said, probably better than some of what we have...

A rudimentary internet search finds that he has a heart condition that prevented his last proposed transfer from going through, and that he was facing early retirement as a result. That was almost a year ago and there's been no update. It's a shame for him but I doubt that we're going to be making any offers.

Good spot, Nicko. Junior Hoilett also available after release from Cardiff? Only 26

I'd have said Hoilett is the very definition of a player we should be avoiding at all costs.

As I recall he had a very decent start to his career at Blackburn but went on to be something of a disaster at QPR. Didn't even know he was at Cardiff. The sort of player I reckon that BSA could possibly have done something with but I doubt he'll be on Parky's radar.

Speaking of cost, this is from August 2015:

..of course, he may be after a more humble wage now. Like a tenth of the above. But that might be up to his agent, David Hoilett Sr (hence the player's nickname).

Junior played all but two league games once he'd signed for his old mate Warnock, the majority on the left wing but occasionally across the front line, scoring two with five assists. But it's noticeable that Warnock has been banging on about driving down the wage bill, then releases

Feels to me like Mavies #2 and Pratley #2.

No thanks on that basis. We need someone like that pikey who played for Reading....
