I don't think Spearing fulfilled my expectation of him. On song he was great, but too often he was run of the mill for me. If he'd been signed for a million and 8k a week then I'd probably be a bit more generous towards him. For circa 17k a week and 4 million plus add-ons I expected lower end Premiership/top end Championship level performance from him from him, whereas I think we mostly got League 1/lower end Championship from him. Wish him no ill and had he signed on again at say 7k a week I'd have no problem.

Good luck to him, but I don't expect him to be ripping too many trees up in the future.

If he does leave I can't really say I'm that bothered

We're going to struggle to find a better replacement with the size of our budget.
Depends, Iles reckons Cullen is coming at some point before end of August. Think he's better.

Disappointed to see him go, but not overly so. He was earning an awful lot considering our current place in the football pyramid, and refused to drop those demands. I'll be intrigued to see where he ends up next - I'll bet he won't keep his current wage, at least not in the Championship.
Same here. Would rather keep him but not at a massive chunk of the wage budget. He's been decent and committed if not spectacular but I'll remember and wish him well.
His contract's up and he's looking for his last decent contract because he'll be 30 when the next one's up. Having said that, anyone who matches his last one is as daft as us!
Good luck to him but correct decision by the club.

Pretty much all of the above. Sorry to see him go, but not overly disappointed. Wouldn't break the wage structure for him.

he made a fairly substantial contribution to us getting out of that league.
A league which, it could be said, he helped us get into in the first place, no?

If you like, but considering the absolute shitstorm that consumed practically everything to do with the club at that time, I'd say that his portion of the blame for our relegation was negligible.

Maybe - but I still think that he has ideas of a pay-scale far beyond that that his ability commands, and we absolutely paid through the nose for him. Whilst I'm on, Haris Tabakovic, do we know owt about him?

We're in full agreement on that.

Is Tabakovic the trialist that we've got playing for us today?

I see his most prolific spell was on loan with FC Wil - a club whose main claim to fame is a chairman called Roger Bigger.

Wonder if Parky sees him as a defensive midfielder - something we need with Spearing gone and Milligan unlikely.
