Bugger. Beat me to it Riviman.
Better to get the news twice that not at all. And you posted quotes, which might be handy for those whose evil bosses block certain sites.

Nuhiu is 6ft 5in; Adam Armstrong is 5ft 8in.

When we were "in" for targets alongside Fulham, West Ham, Celtic, Everton and Blackburn, I generally used to put them in the "paper talk" bracket. It's served me pretty well. :-)

Atdhe sounds like some excuse for "naughty children".

Nuhiu is an even bigger lump in the Madine mould, but could do a job in a Parkinson team.

Armstrong looks like he possesses pace and an ability to finish which is something we lack!

Armstrong is cut from the same mould as sturridge. He's quick, confident and a good finisher! Hoping for the same impact as Sturridge!

He scored 6 in 34 for Barnsley last season. I mean he sounds like someone with potential, but lets not get too giddy.

I personally think a better version of Madine is most critical for us. I question how often Le Fondre will play next season, especially up front, let alone a 20 year old version.

Not getting giddy. I know from a few Newcastle supporting mates that the lad has talent! Also watched him for england. He's decent player with bags of potential. We could do alot worse

Not doubting that I've heard good things too. I also know young players are often overhyped by their clubs fans.

I also do wonder how often he'll get into our side.

Welcome addition though as we definitely need a couple of strikers adding.

He reminds me a bit of Zach Clough.

Adam Armstrong has arrived on a 6 month loan deal. I know nothing about him so fingers crossed.

Not a bad goal after beating Baptiste.

as i said! pretty much the sort of goal Sturridge would score! he'll do alright with us! can see him running onto many knockdown balls! he likes to play on the shoulder!

Yeah hearing good things from toon fans as well. Young and english isnt he so that always raises expectations. Still a quick player who can finish, we haven't had someone like that for years. All these players signed under an embargo before the season starts - fair fcking play to Parky and Ken.

Hope he does well for us. :-)

Presumably we did pay toon for sammyammy's loan, unless they're happy to risk us not paying again!

PS - I'd take anything a toon fan says with a pinch of salt. Deluded doesn't even begin to describe them.

BN: "Lens striker Habib Habibou is on trial at Wanderers until the end of the week."

6ft 4in. Born on 16 April 1987 in the Central African Republic, which can’t be good for his work permit eligibility, but he has a French passport and has been in Europe since his mid-teens. He came through PSG’s youth teams. Signed by Charleroi in 2005, loaned to Tubize (Belgian lower-league) in 2007 then to Steaua Bucharest (Romania) in 2008.

Charleroi kept him on the books for five years – he scored 19 in 74 for them – but in 2010 he moved across Belgium to top-flight Zulte Waregem. This would be his most successful club spell (so far?), with 35 goals and 15 assists in 92 games. (In all, his 147 Belgian top-flight games have produced 48 goals and 22 assists.)

In 2010/11 his 25 league games yielded 10 goals and 6 assists. This seems to have alerted British clubs: he had a trial with Brighton then one with West Ham, but stayed at Waregem. He missed the start of 2011/12 and only played a dozen games, mainly on the left wing, scoring two goals.

After 6 goals and 3 assists in the first half of 2012/13, in January he did get his move to England. QPR had him on trial but preferred Loic Remy so he joined Leeds on loan, but they only gave him one start.

So it was back to Waregem for the first half of 2013/14 (17 lge games, 9 goals, 4 assists) before another January switch, this time to fellow Belgian top-flight side Gent. Here he scored 13 in 15 league games (including a curious end-of-season round-robin to decide the Europa League entrants), ending up as the top flight’s third-highest scorer over the season.

From there it’s been downhill. (That’s the trouble with peaks.) On 2014’s summer-window deadline day he switched to French top-flighters Rennes but despite two goals in his first five league games, he didn’t settle and he only scored one more in his next 21 league games. So in January 2016 he packed his bags for Turkish top-flight side Gaziantespor: 11 league games, no goals, one assist. A year later, he went back to French second-tier side Lens: 13 games, six goals. And now here we are.

Despite the dip in the last few years, clearly he’s capable: in Belgium’s top division, over several discrete spells, he’s reliably averaged a goal every three games. On the other hand, he’s had little impact in other places – France, England and Turkey - although the optimist within might suggest that this might be more about feeling “at home”, and that Parky’s good man-management might get the best out of him. A 6ft 4in striker who knows where the net is: might not be a bad addition. As ever, we’ll see.

One other thing: if any ducks invade the pitch, he doesn't f*ck about.
