My thoughts exactly. Andersons used to represent him apparently.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2017 9:18 pmIf Baptista signs, nobody can convince me that is Parky's decision. No way on earth would Parky, from all we know about him, want a 36 year old Brazilian attacking midfield player in the situation we are in.
This has to be a Ken decision.
Parky probably given Hobson's choice.
Makes you wonder about the, ahem... Small print of the deal.

Definitely seems like a deal being done for the benefit of the team. I mean, who hasn't looked at our games so far and thought what's missing is a semi-retired 35-year-old, who was shit 10 years ago, and last seen playing on the legends circuit in a losing effort against a side featuring Stig Tofting.

PP: “He came in and has been training with our Under-23s, but that’s it at the moment. He’s a good contact of Lee’s. It really has been a great bit of experience for the younger lads to train with a player of that stature and pedigree.”

If we do sign Baptista it suggests the embargo has been significantly relaxed. Hopefully relaxed enough to bring in Spearing....

Marc Iles said at lunchtime that he's expecting an announcement to say that Spearing won't be re-signing.

Parky on Spearing, per Iles: "I'm surprised he hasn't got a club but we have moved on. I have to concentrate on players I have got."

Iles says Joey O'Brien is "currently more likely to get a contract" than Julio Baptista. JOB "has been training at Lostock for a few weeks and has made a good impression on Wanderers boss Phil Parkinson. O’Brien was released last year by West Ham and recruited the help of Whites’ head of sports science Nick Allamby to get back to full fitness."
PP on Baptista:

PP on Baptista:
First of all we can’t sign anyone - let’s get that completely straight. We are absolutely up to the limit on numbers. Second thing is that if we were to sign him, I’d want to assess him over a lot longer period than a few days. He hasn’t played for a long time.
He has done a bit of training with our Under-23s, which has been great for them. He came in to show he’s fit but there’s nothing more than that at this stage. He just wants to train and I don’t think that is a bad thing for us, especially the strikers. There is no harm in it.
Over the course of a season lots of players come in and out of the building but because he’s a big name it has attracted more interest. Anything that happens in a football clubs ends up on Twitter these days, you have to accept that I suppose.
