Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
fecking annoying to be gazumped by Wigan especially for a player who was wearing our shirt last season. To me it just screams how meaningless football is now. Whilst not wanting to sound like a drama queen it really puts me off the whole sport. Last season I'm paying more than I can really afford to cheer him and the team on, now this season possibly he'll be tearing is apart playing for our minnow neighbours.

This is not good. If we have any money left we should try and sign him permanently.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 10:06 pmSoon as I heard Wigan were after him I thought he’d go there for some reason. That’s an irritating one - whilst not the finished article he certainly improved after Christmas and they get the benefit now. And we need to find a left back as well - suspect we didn’t have a back up.

You are talking millions. Not happening. Joe Royle has got him to Wigan, he’s working for Wigan now. But he was the academy boss at Everton. It’s one of those things.bristol_Wanderer3 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 10:57 pmThis is not good. This was always my worry with waiting on Robinson. At least this is coming to light now and not on deadline day. There are still players out there we can get, even if we're all gutted not to get Jedi back in when it seemed a goer.

Not millions. He has played 20 games in the Championship. He might cost £1m. Not sure we have that, but it would be a good investment...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 11:04 pmYou are talking millions. Not happening. Weren't Everton stipulating Robinson would need to sign a contract before being loaned out? If that's so, forget buying him. A bit pxssed off abou this, I liked the lad. Wigan, Wigan??

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Guess who's getting booed all game on December 2nd?
As soon as I heard the rumour I knew. Rude to go to a rival like that.
However, we should have sorted out starter positions before chasing backup strikers.
Need a leftback, keeper, centreback with speed and a defensive mid with speed > fifth striker option.
All of a sudden there's lots of options available and money needs to be spent on our actual team needs not on some future moneymaking scheme.
What were our leftback options we liinked with again?
Miguel Nelom, Felipe Curcio, Lichaj, Vincent Bessa...? Any loan ideas?

If he can play the number 10 role, then ALF certainly can.
Needs to right manager.
He's 23 and hasn't done enough in his career to warrant any sort of special treatment. He's too lightweight for this league, not enough ooomph about him. Oztumer might be the same but I hear he has more bite and tenacity.
When Oztumer was 23 he was playing in the eigth tier FWIW.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Linked vaguely with another centreback Shrewsbury's Aristotle Nsilaa.
6ft 3in and 26. Congolese international. Handed in his transfer notice along with mid Jon Nolan.
Ipswich has their old manager and are favourites.
Has a chequered transfer history. Sounds like a fee would be necessary too.

No idea who we might turn to, but I think Jay Dasilva is looking for a Championship loan and Stefan Stangl is looking for a club in England, or was. There are options.

Yeah he seems to either like the manager or leave - usually to follow his old manager.
Has never played this high either, except maybe for Everton's seconds.

I really want to get someone better than Darth Vader now so we can laugh at Wigan once more.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Thu Aug 02, 2018 12:55 amNo idea who we might turn to, but I think Jay Dasilva is looking for a Championship loan and Stefan Stangl is looking for a club in England, or was. Ghost what about that Jon Nolan? Plays centre mid, gets goals, young enough?

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
I saw him a number of times when Shrewsbury were on TV at the end of last season. Looked really good. As I said on here then he seemed a favourable mix of Nolan and Vela, high energy, very good at arriving from midfield and getting on the end of chances. Scored 9 in 40 for Shrewsbury last season, in a relatively low scoring team. Anyway, all that said, he will go to Ipswich. Plus we have Oztumer, Vela, possibly ALF if he stays, and possibly another signing lined up to play in the AM position.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Thu Aug 02, 2018 1:06 amHonestly, mate, I don't think I've seen him since he left Stockport. He was a good lad then and had ability, no idea since.

Luke Murphy looked interesting. Only 28. Got a great longshot.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
What? They don’t want to sell him and want to offer a new deal. Have you seen how much players who haven’t played any proper football go for from premiership sides these days? As Parky says loaning a young lad from the top flight often costs 1M quid in a loan fee. Everton see him as part of their plans. He’s cost way way more than £1M.bristol_Wanderer3 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 11:31 pmNot millions. He has played 20 games in the Championship. He might cost £1m. Maybe that is the thing, he has had to fight for it. We have no idea how he will do here at this level. I have concerns that being a big fish in a small pond might have suited him better than being expected and needed to perform here. But we shall see.Tombwfc wrote: ↑Thu Aug 02, 2018 12:46 amBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 10:44 amWarburton paid 3M for him and he never performed.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 10:25 amClough is a confidence player. Clough is a different animal. If we are truthful since his initial form with us, he’s not done much at this level, either here or Forest. He’s not shown enough to warrant us taking that risk. Not by a long way.
