You know we might as well try and take it to the opposition, the result would I imagine be the same, but at least the away supporters may feel we have been in a game...just feels like we just aren't in games enough, and we only start to try and go forward once we are losing?

Cant argue - the most negative team selection I have ever seen. As much as I would have taken a result a selection like that deserves nothing.

It's unbelievable that PP just doesn't learn. We look good when we attack - we can genuinely give teams things to worry about.

When we defend - which is 90% of the time - we look shite and come back with nothing anyway.

Better second half but poor overall. Nothing going forward. A mistake from Parky to try and match their way of playing. Pretty sure he wouldn't have set up like that had he seen their line up before he made his selection.

Vela was terrible, he has declined.

I can't imagine how Wilson doesn't get a game, particularly at home. His passing ability is Premiership standard. Beevers passing ability is barely L1.

I think Vela will be one of the ones auctioned off in January, doesn't look happy to me

He didn’t match Anyone’s game plan...I have never seen a 5 4 1 with 4 centre mids before in my life... it’s like he read all the criticism of Saturday and went out of his way to prove you could set a team up even more negatively.

Genuinely flabbergasted at that. Kindest thing I can think is that his head has been elsewhere.

He gave us absolutely no chance of (1) performing even half decent or (2) getting a positive result.

That (5-4-1) is how Middlesbrough have set up their last three league games before this one, including their last home game against West Brom....

With 4 centre mids? Aye alright
Asomoblpnga braithwaite and downing started that one....I’d have it as a 352.

Yes! Two of them were live on sky, I watched them.

They had Braithwaite / Downing slightly advanced like we had Vela advanced tonight. 5-3-1-1 if you want to split hairs :)

1 point from 12. The good start has well and truly petered out and, as much as he got it right away from home at the start of the season, you've gotta say PP's negativity - especially at home - is really stunting us.

Thought Oz looked lost. Drifting rather than roaming. There's a good player there so I hope we can harness him.

No way? I thought he looked good, lovely little dummy, too. Seems like an intelligent player.

He will be wondering what the hell hes got himself into at the moment.

Said it so many times...when it’s shit under Parky it’s really fecking shit. We’ve another 3 games to go before he spawns a win as well.

Ok well you watched em.

I’d still counter our 4 vs there 4 is a different ball game....😂
Infact maybe that’s the answer...Parky thought he was picking a rugby team so hadn’t got to the offensive players in his teamsheet.

Yes I agree with that. Their midfield 4 has a much better pedigree than ours, and is much more capable of supporting the attack :)

Once Pulis changed his line up tonight Parky was left drawing dead. He had unsettled our line up and took our away any ability to attack, and hadn't achieved anything.

I suspect that we will be in the bottom 3 in a few weeks time - Parkinson's negative mindset needs to change ASAP, he needs to let the players play, take the shackles off, stop being so defensive / negative in the 1st half of games and more importantly stop being obsessed about trying to nullify the opposition all the time & give them something to worry about....attack is the best form of defence.

We only start to go forward in numbers & with any intensity when we go behind, which is too late.

I've said it before & I'll say it gain Parkinson urgently needs an attacking coach to help him with that side of the game.

I was having a look at some of the replies from your most recent game as we play you again this weekend. There are some similarities here such as a questionable starting selection and devoid of effort and interest at certain parts of the game. We endured the same thing with Brentford, in fact the first 45 were pretty awful. Not that that's anything new with us.

You'll see we are without a victory thus far and the big question remains who will be our first opposition win this season. I like to feel I have more respect that to suggest it could be any one team but of course it has to occur sooner or later. A lot of fans are angry with Hurst already while others insist it's too premature to be calling for heads.

Way I see it we can play well but only in patches, there's very little chance of being consistent for 90 minutes at a time so would hope one of the new kids we've brought in can make a name for themselves and that elusive win from somewhere. It's embarrassing to be at the bottom of the league, I feel we're better than that but not feeling sorry for ourselves.

It should be a good game at the weekend, both clubs have seen better days and that's not to say they won't again but things are going to take time.

When I see the team sheat it is like we are come here to train with Middlesbrough , they are the attacking team and we are the defensive team , I think the formation is 1-1-3-5 , Phil Parkinson not using magennis well he is winning some air fight but there is no body support him he head it some time with his back of his head but no body behind him , I remember Kevin Davies with allardyce when he head it or keep the ball with him there is diouf and Nolan and stelios and anelka , but now he waste magennis strength .

Did Parky basically chuck this one - with an eye on Ipswich and 3 points?

Tried for a point but rested Ameobi, Noone, et al.
And also the defenders, mids and Magennis by giving them extra help.
Although he probably should have started Little.
What could've happened; did.
