I’m certainly not as low as stoke for the record - that was almost out of the blue...that Jonny Evans knack of Stuart a golden has a hell of a lot to answer for mind...

I'm not here to excuse Parky but I can see that he wanted his midfield three to be O'Neil and the Everton kids; if you've got Gaz and Lowe in there, it starts to feel a little old.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 11:26 pmI like Lowe but as a central midfielder. His best games for us have been in a combative middle three.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 11:04 pmIs Lowe a bit shit or is it cos he plays for us? Can’t make my mind up...
He’s not a fuxkin fullback!
I get Parky may not like Little now but he's a right back. If there were doubts about Pav's fitness then Little should have started. You don't, imo, start putting square pegs in round holes.
And there seems to be an opinion that Lowe, who's switched between defensive midfield and right-back like a latter-day Neil McDonald, is better in defence. PP switched him there at Rotherham and it worked, sparking this:
https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/1 ... k-success/Lowey has played a lot of his career at right-back and when we brought him in over the summer a few managers said ‘he’s a good midfielder but he’s a better right-back'. We knew if we moved him there he gives us quality on the ball and experience as well. Then we had to stick him in at left-back as well and he handled it brilliantly. I was just in with all the staff and Nick Allamby said, for him, Lowey was man of the match. We had put him on the wrong side and they put some fresh legs up against him as well but he coped with it really well.
Perhaps this was on Parky's mind, and maybe he wanted Lowe's greater experience for the derby. Whatever the thought process, it didn't work.

The thing is you can justify every single decision Parky makes, but the simple fact of the matter is that he's made a pig's ear of this season. His decisions - while rationalized in his brain - have cost us.
And while I know that Insane once said most Bolton fans have shit for brains, fans aren't always wrong. They could see that ALF was our best natural goalscorer, that Klasnic was underused at times etc etc and they get really pissed off by managers who make such bizarre decisions and inevitably end up taking us down.
It's the old saying isn't it - if the fans can see it, why can't the manager?

Ivan Klasnic -- one of the best "goal hangers" we've ever had lol........ did bugger all but could always find the back of the net

This is possibly the worst team/season we've had for a long time for not scoring goals. We always managed to fight a bit in the worst of times, but sadly, Parky has to take some real blame for this one. His backing-off, defensive strategy (which didn't work anyway) was negativity in spades and just asking teams to come and get us. Sadly, they all did. Any arguments need only get pointed at our position in the table.

I know it doesn’t matter now but Remi Matthews wants binning off for the rest of the season - horrendous on most of the goals yesterday, not just the third. What the hell was he playing at? Where is Ben Alnwick anyway?

He's lost the plot. From the BBC.
He's blaming other games now.
"As soon as we got a goal back, we felt we could go on and get something. We always felt we could create chances against Wigan, but unfortunately conceded too soon after our goals.
"The nature of the third goal in particular summed up our afternoon, and the way it's been going. It's ridiculous."
"It happened earlier this week in the Carlisle-Notts County game, and sometimes when players see something like that on the telly, they copy it."
"I've said to Remi (Matthews) that it's a basic thing as a goalkeeper, you look around you. It's a very poor error."
To be fair to Remi, he did look round. Twice. In all seriousness if he thought we were going to come back and beat Wigan then he is deluded.

Aye, I loved Klasnic. A left foot to rival Van Persie!

not sure the GDs are right but hey-ho
also only two teams would get relegated - if three went down (and three up) and we went pop, there'd only be 23 teams next season
