Shabby treatment is when its by choice. "I'm sorry we can only pay you X because it all the business has" is not shabby treatment. If you think it is then you've clearly never been in a similar position. Its very unfortunate and not good for many people who are owed money - players are one of the last in my particular sympathies. I had more time for players when Anderson was dicking around - points needed making. But when the business that employs you is in administration - it is a different situation entirely.LeverEnd wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 10:56 amIf you don't think players have been poorly treated you're just a stubborn fool and there is literally no point debating it with you.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 10:31 amHe's 28. He's been at a club that has been shabbily treated where everyone is suffering. Everyone. No more so than the supporters. The players who have all been paid at least some of what they owe are employees of an insolvent business. Read back what you just wrote and hang your head in shame you stupid, pathetic, tantrum throwing c*nt.
Those that go - mean nothing to me at all. Why on earth would they?
I try not to resort to abuse but I stand by my comments.
If we currently sat with a billionaire owner refusing to pay them out of spite or even a Steve Dale situation I'd get it, but we're in administration - players are being paid what they can be and ultimately that isn't shabby treatment it is just life.

When you were in the similar situation, if another employer had come along offering equal or better terms and possibly progressing your career, would you have turned them down out of loyalty? I wouldn’t. I’d feel incredibly sorry for those left behind who might not get that opportunity but I’d be happy to at least get myself sorted.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 11:01 amShabby treatment is when its by choice. I took a voluntary pay cut and traveled out of my own money forgoing expenses. Would I have done that for other businesses? Depends on the situation.jimbo wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 11:07 am

And yes football is just a business to players they have no passion at all for the clubs. I get that. Doesn't mean as fans that is the case and nor should it be. I'm looking for someone to show the passion for the club I have. The kids and coaching staff seem to be doing that right now and I doff my cap to them.

Sad news this and means potentially the others will be leaving shortly too?
Shit players don't score as many goals as he did over his last 2 seasons at Walsall. We certainly never saw anything like a decent player though. Was it him, the coach, the next level up or a combination of the three?
I'd take issue with anyone who thought he hadn't been shabbily treated or who wished injury on him but I can't be arsed.

Mmmm that's a tad generous. He's gone, goodbye, we move on at least that's some cash saved.
Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
Sorry to break it to you HG but apparently that means despite the miles you've travelled recently you're doing the club down and not a real fan. You need some more hate coursing through your veins!Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 11:30 amSad news this and means potentially the others will be leaving shortly too?

All his goals are 35 yarders 2 yards inside the post. Because the standard of goalkeeping in league 1 is atrocious. Otherwise all he does is play blind flicks around the corner. Comes off 1 in 10 and then people think he's got skillz. The rest of the midfield won't be sad to see him go, I'm sure.

I'm mostly with Insane on this one. I wouldn't wish him a career-ending injury, but he can do one. After the heroics of the Coventry game, we can't waste time on players who have no passion or fight. feck em

I wonder if the league will let us register some players now we’ve lost a couple. Hobbs and another midfielder (Conway?) or a forward would be welcome now!

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
The real issue here is precedent I fear. The other players who have put forward an argument to have their contracts terminated, will surely not be told that their situation is different. That could leave us with no senior players by the end of the week. I don't blame any of them for one minute. We are fans, they are employees. Not a single one of us on here, approached by an employer willing to pay us a life changing signing on fee plus secure and higher wages, would turn that down I suspect.

Shame. I’d hoped he would do well for my team. Now I’m relying on a teenager.

Oz never impressed but I struggle to see how even a JJ Ochocha would fit in a Parkinson side. Could never understand why he signed him.

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
Trouble is, nobody properly fits into a Parkinson side. Everybody to some extent is a square peg, and all he can see are static round holes. He hammers and hammers any nearly round peg he can find until he takes all the remaining edges off to try and slot them in.irie Cee Bee wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 2:34 pmOz never impressed but I struggle to see how even a JJ Ochocha would fit in a Parkinson side. But, no footballer is any good without edge...
And as you say, the ones who don't fit, like Oztumer, and are harder to hammer in, he just chucks away. So why buy a square peg in the first place? God only knows...

The injured dwarf has miraculously overcome his knee injury that was keeping him out for a month and had signed for Charlton. He is available for selection tomorrow.

I can't recall any direct quotes from BWFC management (Parkinson etc) last week, but is anyone aware of any related comments covering up this 'so called' Oztumer injury ?, probably knowing that he was off to Charlton for no fee.

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
I think there's a fair chance "He is available to play for the Addicks immediately" refers to his registration, not his injury status.
Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
It'll be interesting to see what Charlton can get out of him at that level. I do think he was under-used by Parky.
