League One 2019/20
Time rumbles on. Although the EFL haven't yet decided how much to bollock us for the Brentford no-show, tomorrow they'll be busy releasing the fixtures for the new season. So I thought we could start a thread on the oppoes - the sort which in previous seasons we might have called "We are hopefully staying up" or "promotion rivals" or summat, but we're now in such flux it's hard to know what to say.
It should be interesting. Ground sizes stretching from 4,000 to 48,000. Six Lancashire rivals if you slightly cheat to include Tranmere, who are certainly local rivals, so that's 12 derbies – and plenty of those will feature fired-up opponents, from Boltonophobic sides Tranmere and Bury to look-how-far-we've-come Accrington to 2016/17 promo rivals Fleetwood. Just two Yorkies (Donny/Rotherham), some bastard journeys (hats off to those travelling from our neck of the woods to Gillingham and Southend) and two big clubs at either end of the country in last season's rivals Pompey and Sunderland.
Anyway, some questions to start you off:
1. Who do you fancy for the title?
2. Who's gonna struggle?
3. Who do you want on the opening day?
4. Where do you fancy us to finish?
The Other 23:
Accrington
AFC Wimbledon
Blackpool
Bristol Rovers
Burton
Bury
Coventry
Doncaster
Fleetwood
Gillingham
Ipswich
Lincoln
MK Dons
Oxford
Peterborough
Portsmouth
Rochdale
Rotherham
Shrewsbury
Southend
Sunderland
Tranmere
Wycombe

Re: League One 2019/20
I always look forward to a new season and this year's no different. However, this will be the first season since about 2001, where I don't have the slightest bit of optimism.
1. Hard to see past the big two for the title. Sunderland ran out of steam last year but must surely have too much for the rest this year. Pompey have been climbing steadily back upwards too. I'll throw in a dark horse too. Bristol Rovers. They were the best visiting team last time we were in League 1, newish manager now and they've made some good early signings.
2. Us obviously. Bury too surely. Then the smaller sides - Dale, Accy and Wimbledon
3. Somewhere I've never been to, so Oxford or Lincoln away.
4. Impossible to say at the moment, the next 5 weeks are so crucial in terms of recruitment and EFL punishment. I can't see us avoiding the drop as things stand

Welcome to one of the finest cities in history. There’s a few of us round here. Pity there’s no game to meet at!
(Unless you count Wimbledon, who play near Kingston)

Yes Wimbledon! Forgot about that. Not far from Putney where we are.

Welcome LE!
I'm selfishly hoping Wimbledon away is a midweek game so I can go without missing football (playing, though insert your own joke here) and so I have a chance of getting a ticket.
