Another fine mess Stanley (H) 29.2.2020 3pm KO
Another defeat and the criticism on social media may be heard from the stands.
Durphy to start? Dodoo and Politic wide in an offensive 4-3-3? They murdered us on the wings last time so, Lowe back into midfield please.
Anyone going?

4-0 to us. It'll look good on the CV.
Good thread title, by the way.

"Trail of the lonesome pines.." might be an appropriate title. We're going to be so far behind everybody else shortly we'll finish up playing attack v defence on Saturdays.

Mightier clubs than us have fallen and risen again. Realising a dream is a bit pointless really (not a deliberate pun) as we'd have nothing to dream of and aim for, and who knows what tomorrow will bring for anybody? Soldier on and keep the faith. COME ON YOU WHITES... ..

Today’s deckchairs: Fleming back for Bunney (benched), Dodoo for O’Grady (O’Ut of the squad altogether).

B.B.C. Bolton have had 11 shots to 1.....
We should be 3 or 4 up according to chances. 14-1. Nuff said.....

A much better first-half performance than we've become used to - it just goes to show what a difference it makes when the better players are available.
Bryan in midfield gives us the kind of passing option in the middle of the pitch we haven't had since Bridcutt, although I want us to try and use him more than we have. In addition to Bryan, Crawford's presence just ahead has allowed us to be calmer in possesion than probably at any time since Hill's first couple of weeks here. We've also had a balance and a shape to us for the first time in a long while, helped a lot by Lowe being more solid than Emmanuel at full-back. Inevitably, it's all meant that we've had more control of things and created more opportunities as a result.
One other thing, it's a real shame we lost Pritchard in the summer. He's been a bright spot for them.

Does this prove dominance/ good play, or rank bad finishing? Which?
One goal, three points is all it needs.

How come we don't have any strikers/forwards on the bench?
Injuries or some back handed insult of 'your not playing well enough'?

Got to catch the 2nd half.
We've missed Crawford. Been very good.

22 shots only 4 on target.
Makes a change from losing 7 bleeding 1 though.

Played some good football in the first half. Pretty poor in the 2nd half though and it felt like we needed a change.
Politics decision making needs to improve if he's going to fulfill his potential.
Nice to see Zouma back in the side and he played well. He certainly makes me less nervous than Nsiala

Was that a 7 goal improvement or 1 goal worse?

Keith Hill updated CV - won 1 out of the last 14 games, time to celebrate a 0-0 at home to Accrington Stanley.

It's not a 7-1 drubbing and we bossed the game.

You mean apart from the two times Zouma got in a right mess and they almost scored? Christ I thought he was a liability coming on.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 5:30 pmPlayed some good football in the first half. Pretty poor in the 2nd half though and it felt like we needed a change.
