Can we be-a-tad little shellfish and make this the U-turn of the season? Colchester United Away 19th Sep 2020 15:00pm

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

As has been said, the goal was again Santos' fault for just falling asleep.

Passing is sloppy and slow and the players are always 5-10 yards out of position to receive the ball - but it's still better.

Don't get me wrong, unless we improve another 40-50% we'll never win a game of football this season; but still.
Agree. Everything we do is so laboured. I find it hard to see us scoring a lot. And we look like even against a very poor side with no striker like Colchester we will concede. Defensively we look very very poor. Going forwards we look just plain old poor. Hickman aside everyone else takes too many touches or looks like they don’t have the quality to make a telling final ball.

We need to improve drastically. This isn’t just a few minor things to iron out. This needs a huge increase in tempo, effort and application.

Gross overreaction here tbh. We were the better team overall and our passing and general play was much sharper than last week. If we play the same in the second half I think we'll score.

Unlike Greenidge or even Zouma, Santos has had plenty of chances at league clubs. He has all the Physical attributes and Is a decent footballer. But he’s either lazy or just not up to it mentally. Can’t win that battle. Get him dropped cos we’ll ship every week with that Cnut in the team.

I can't help but laugh at this...otherwise I'd cry.

When the ball is on it's way into the box he's neither looking at the ball or at his man! For some reason he's looking up the pitch!

It's like a mental illness, or a computer-game glitch.

Does Gethin Jones know that when you get into a crossing position the aim is to NOT hit the first defender?

Maybe the first defender knows the aim is to block the cross. But Jones isn't as good at whipping it round as Hickman.

In his Bolton career I’ve counted at least 8 crosses of his that haven’t beaten the front post defender. Frustrating especially the last one as it was a well worked position. The trouble is we are barely having shots in anger. Keeper not had a real save to make. We look ok up to the box then very very laboured. Need someone to do something special. Or at least get the ball out of their feet quicker.

Old Man Baptiste couldn't keep up with their lad and Crellin's position/decision-making was poor too.

Can’t defend. Can’t score. That’s a recipe for failure.
