Santos and Tutte both outstanding. Gilks clearly made a difference at the back. Proper Captain's performance from Sarce. Jones and Kioso impressive also. We didn't have an awful lot of the ball in the 2nd half, but I never really felt like we were in danger. Superb!
I agree with this 100%, we never really looked like conceding - Santos immense apart from his mistake just after HT, the work rate & effort was excellent throughout, Kioso's block 2nd half was great. It also shows the difference having an experienced goalkeeper who talks & organises the defence, I was made up for Gilks & even Baptiste had a good game.

We could have won by more as Sarce (who was excellent all game) should really have squared it for Fonz near the end - a great win though.

I enjoyed that match. We showed grit and looked so much more organised than we have previously. We need to do it again when the cameras aren't on us, now. If we go out and play like crap again against Stevenage then it'll just show that they can do it when they want to. Gilks and Evatt both went on about the tv cameras post match and we need to make sure we turn up on Saturday. As was said above, there's the potential to go on a run now - but the same was true after Bradford and the Orient game was a wake up call.

I'm very happy tonight. Has to be replicated now.

Sixth form kid at my school last year called Billy Bradshaw. Looked entirely unamused when I pointed out how funny I found this.

We looked a decent team. No Evatt ball from the back. Gilks an old fashioned keeper who drops it and boots it long. No risk taking rolling it to a defender to start things. Is Evatt finally adjusting to getting results over style? Sarc was brilliant..MOM for me. All over the pitch, could have had two goals himself in addition to his assist. Team selection looked strong on paper and we played well. Fingers crossed that this is not an illusion.

Good performance. Probably our oldest possible starting XI (maybe Miller for Delf but y’know) and for once we didn’t look callow and inexperienced but savvy from back to front. Well done Gilksy. Slightly surprised a member of the coaching staff abandoned the idea of rolling the ball out from the back; maybe it was a one-off but arguably it invited more pressure in another nervy second half (kicking long turns over possession far more and far quicker than playing out). But hey-ho, we won, lovely stuff. Change the entire XI for Tuesday’s dead rubber then back to these guys next week. COYWM.

The body on the line defending is almost as good as the goals.

That’s probably our best XI between now and Christmas. Is Jones ideal at left wing back? No but experience helps positionally with the team shape and he has a football brain and a decent engine. The back 3 works as was pointed out when I thought a back 4 might suit us earlier in the week. Sarcevic is clearly a player who could play above this level. Tutte is the best man for the job in the holding role. And that’s our best combination up front BUT finally some decent attacking options on the bench!

Gilkes just showed Crellin how to command and lead from the back. The lad may well learn as much from that as he would from playing. We’ll see but for me I would stick with Gilkes till Jan and look to sign someone more experienced. Wonder if having a coach on the pitch worked for Evatt?

Whilst I think overall, that was probably our best 90 minutes last night. And I reckon we had the best of the missed chances. We looked pretty week on the left, attacking wise. If it hadn't been for Sarce's bursting runs, we showed little else. Fonz, Doyle and Crawford were all pretty quiet for most of the 90. Wasn't surprised to see Miller and Isgrove on, was surprised we didn't put Darcy on by 60 mins,

Aye, with Stevenage, Southend and Scuthorpe as our next three, three out of the bottom four, we need to be targeting a "points haul"

I expect we'll have a lot more possession in the forthcoming games than we had last night. Hopefully we'll make good use of it, particularly in the opposition half. 2 things I was impressed with last night - we pressed their defence better and forced them into errors. Out of possession we quickly retreated into a white wall with the forward players getting back well too.

I wonder if we have ever played 4 consecutive league matches against teams beginning with the same letter, we will have Salford Stevenage Scunthorpe and Southend.
I can only think 'B' s were a possibility at some stage, sort of Blackburn Blackpool Barnsley Bradford scenario but I don't recall.
Indeed a strange season Mr Evatt posts another first.

If you ignore the nine irrelevant fixtures in between then yes.
