I'm thinking another midfielder, who's approximately tent shaped.Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 1:42 pmI can't wait for that promised 'marquee' signing !

Some interesting Evatt soundbites from his press conference currently going on:

Evatt via BN
At the moment we're expecting two in, and they should be released in due course. We are hopeful of possibly another two. One is a goalkeeper, one a midfielder and the other two if I can get them over the line are in the forward areas of the pitch.
I am very hopeful. One is taking a bit of work but he's one I have talked about before, a real maverick, and if we can get it over the line I'll be extremely happy. It is taking a bit of work but things are heading in the right direction.
The other one is more of a younger player with a Premier League club. The idea is to take him on loan for the rest of the season with the option of signing him permanently in the summer.
One is more experienced and a maverick, the other looking at this season and next, really.
Outgoings, things are still developing. One will definitely move away permanently, one will return to his parent club and there's discussions ongoing at the moment with another potential exit.

"Real maverick" got used quite a lot there....suggests a "what the fcuk" moment around the corner!

Evatt seems in chucklesome mood...
On deadline day:
"I have just seen Harry Redknapp and Peter Odemwingie outside... so hopefully we can get those two over the line."
On whether newbies will play at Mansfield:
“It will depend on what number comes out of my lottery machine. I’ll put my hand in, whip it out and see whose number comes up."

Surely the question should've been "will you have the chance to get some content into any new signings prior to Mansfield game..."

See that was ok till the follow up after the second quote. One could play but in reality we need to get them accustomed to our playing styles and methods...I mean sure....we do....but we need to know them first.....Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 3:39 pmEvatt seems in chucklesome mood...

Evatt on Taft leaving (per BN) -
"when the opportunity arose to allow him to go permanently it frees up space in the cap, frees up space for next season and also allows us to bring in a player who I’ve had my eye on for quite a while, who is still available. It doesn’t depend on anyone going out. We have four players with Alex Baptiste, Ricardo Santos, Ryan Delaney and Reiss Greenidge, and he can add to that number providing he is what we think he is. He has had a very good career so we will see how that develops.”

Lukas Jensen confirmed
But in other much more surprising news, Marcus Maddison is apparently on our radar
I have serious reservations about Maddison - by all accounts he has a poor attitude based on stories from his previous clubs. I thought Evatt wanted to recruit honest, hard working characters...

Maddison is a very good player though, very good - but I can't see him dropping down to League 2
However, I would certainly settle for Maddison as the 'marquee' signing.

I have never heard of this Maddison fella
The new 'keeper is a dead ringer for that Brian Jensen who also played for Burnley

Proper No.10. Highly rated at Peterborough, refused to sign a new contract and was thus listed in his final year, as they do automatically. Went to Hull and then Charlton. Definitely third-tier quality at least - if you can get a tune out of him. 52 goals in 212 T3 games for Posh.
Meanwhile, official twitter implies another signing incoming
