Kioso - I think he’s a good loan - he’s come in and is instantly better than what we have.

BTW nobody has mentioned Hickman. I’d wager he might be able to do a midfield job but I’m not sure it’s the Tutte role.

Quick squiz at some Citeh kids. Not convinced.

KEYENDRAH ('KEKE') SIMMONDS - Turning 20 next May, City's No.93 has been at City since age of eight, converted from left-winger to forward, scored a late Sherpa Van equaliser this season, pacy and direct with quick feet. He was said to be looking to leave the Etihad in the last close season for first-team football, and linked with both Sheffield clubs plus West Brom and QPR, so it might be time for him to branch out – but would that be as low as the Fourth Division?

Similarly, City signed teenagers SAMUEL EDOZIE from Millwall and MORGAN ROGERS from West Brom last year, so they may not want those lads to drop down as far. Edozie scored two at Scunny in September, Rogers scored at Bradford in the same competition last season, so they may be ready for the men's game – although they seem to be more wide attackers or No.10s than true forwards.

LIAM DELAP (6ft1, 17) is more of a centre-forward but seems to be getting fast-tracked to the first team rather than risked among the ruffians – he played for the first team in the Carabao Cup against Bournemouth.

Shame re Miller looked good to me but he’s never been fit. Moves striker up the list of January priorities behind Goalkeeper I think. Which makes defensive midfielder a position we are more likely to find within the current crop.
I predict we'll see at least three new faces in January, but as you say striker is now second priority behind goalkeeper, with left-sider also an issue. Defensive midfield is probably Priority Number Four, especially while we have players on the books who aren't - yet - outcasts.

There were two of the Newcastle lads who looked handy. Forgotten their names like.

For a striker I’d rather sign an older more world wise player from the champ or league one, someone not getting any games. I can’t be faffed with 18 year olds being kicked to bits cos they are not ready. Haven’t Rotherham got anyone we can borrow kicking their heels without reserve team footie?

No.57 Elliot Anderson (scorer of both their goals) certainly looked very lively. He seems to be making a name for himself in the North East and was on the bench against Crystal Palace last Saturday.

I see you were all back on the sauce when the pubs reopened! Christ alive.

As much as I'd love to see one of the younger players get the nod from the very limited bits so far they look all to be more attacking midfielders rather than being able to do that job (maybe Riley could?)

I'd go White, as Comley doesn't look up to it at all to me, whereas I think there's a player in White. Both have this frustrating tendency that they look like they actively want to go backwards rather than forwards. Comley in particular gets in trouble at least once a game by turning back into trouble when there's no need.
George Thomason it is then

Apols if it's already been covered, but is this our final window under embargo?

Some telling quotes on here -

Already focusing on next summer and not willing to overspend in January. I don’t think HMS piss the league is going to be full steam ahead!

Not sure it's that outlandish - lot of games between now and end of Jan - I suspect there would be a little leeway depending on where we are in the League. But we're certainly going to need to continue the job in Summer irrespective of what the league situation is.

He’s said tonight the players not in the team aren’t good enough. All down to Ian Evatt next window.

Yes, I think I prefer the Manager being in control (obvs with the necessary link to budgets).

Fairly clear with him replacing Tutte with Thomason, he's not overly impressed with White or Comley.
Hickman, who.looked to be worth a bench place to me, disappeared without trace.
Not sure Gnhouha gets anywhere near the bench if Isgrove/Miller were fit (and not sure about those two either, yet)
Greednidge and Crellin look to be on the bench.just in case of injury...
So we're getting to the makings of a "clearout" if possible.

That's without looking at the actual starters where we have a few problem children. Crawford likely to be on a few bob comparatively. Jones not a great fit out of position, Gilks (done nowt wrong but pushing his bus pass)....

Problems, problems..

I think one of White/Comley, Taft and possibly both wing backs are going to be encouraged out of the door. Hickmans and odd one, I’ve been happy with him when he’s played and he’s also shown some necessary shithousing when come on as a sub. Why he’s disappeared is an odd one.

Along with our other Howard Hughes, Liam Edwards.

Many of these players we expect to be out of the door are under contract until Summer 21 and 22. I cant imagine many new faces coming in yet

Oh aye. Him too!

I guess if we could get 2-4 first teamers, then all of a sudden, the bench looks a little stronger.

Not buying this argument. We are saying that Tom White who played for Evatt at Barrow was foisted on him and Evatt didn’t want him and knew he was no good?

Sorry but the players we have are more than good enough to be doing better. Yes there are some imbalances in the squad but that’s down to Evatt and his bonkers obsession with playing a system we can’t play.

Post match he’s gone full on Souness (vs Allardyce) and frankly that says everything we need to know.

I've missed point 1 being suggested anywhere...but given you raise it, Phoenix hasn't departed for no reason.

I think we should be doing better and like you, think he needs a plan B that recognises the players we have, rather than those he might want. I'm concerned about physical teams which means we're dangerously close to sounding like Arsenal fans on that front.

Don't generally care what managers say post match unless they're in denial, which he's never been.
