If my memory of the HT stats is right, the second-placed team didn't have a shot on target after halftime

A bit like at similar high-flyers Cambridge, we looked far from outclassed

Get organised, reshuffle the squad next month and we might be reet

A great 3 points. Did not see that coming. Might have a cheeky beer to celebrate :pissed:

Excellent! Sounds like a Parky win. None of that airy fairy nonsense. Insano will be
particularly delighted.

Evatt seems to have faith in Thomason. Is he genuinely good?

Agree with this - that was unexpected to be honest, why are we are so inconsistent. Those Bolton fans behind the goal when we scored, excellent. Also I thought Isgrove did ok.

Makes no sense. We've been completely incapable of defending our six yard box in the air all season, now playing against a team whose entire strategy is to cross it / throw it into that area at every opportunity and somehow we deal with every single one of them as though it was nothing. :conf: Well played the back three.

Aye. Reminds me of Alan Thompson in centre mid. Without the goals(yet!). Needs a pie or two.

In that case we may just have a good un on our hands.

I thought as the half wore on we defended much better - particularly given we clearly didn’t have a decent option at left wing back. The long throws and corners Gilkes and co defended well after the first couple. You know with Crellin in tonight we’ve lost that about 4-0.

Delaney, Santos,Baptiste and Jones all decent. Gilkes probably MotM. Sarce and Thomason were fine and Isgrove buzzes about to decent effect but his final pass left a lot to be desired. Delf was quiet, Doyle worked hard. Grenidge and Mascoll both shite!

Fingers crossed. Once Tutte comes back in he would stay in the team for me... then I suspect we’ll see how ready is as he will need to get forward. I think he has an eye for a pass.

How many fans were there? Looks like a decent group of them after viewing again! How did they get tickets? 😂

I don't know what to make of that. We bizarrely seemed to be simultaneously calamitous and threatening in our forward play, with our efforts baring little resemblance to the style of football Evatt's been brought in to implement. Yet despite them looking quite capable at getting forward quickly, we managed to nullify them easily enough. Unconvincing, but a win's a win.

It just goes to show what happens when we stop pissing about with our set-pieces, eh? :D

All of this and some! To give us our due, we never stopped running.

He is. You need to win lots of games like that. And clean sheets are at a premium. It is a better blueprint to be able to grind out results yet play when able than only get results when you are flying.

Upon reflection last night feels like an even bigger win. Clearly still missing the pivot of Tutte and Kioso as an attacking outlet, we dug in and defended the box well and got 3 points when we would have been thankful for 1 in the end. Agree with BWFCI, it’s about digging in and getting these kind of results.
