Can we squirrel 3 points from the Wirral mob? (H) Sat. 2020-12-19 15:00 BWFC v Tranmere Rovers

Play 4-4-2. That’s my option. The system ain’t working.
Assuming we abandon the shape we've worked on for six months, which is extremely questionable as ideas go, who are your two wide midfielders?
So we just play the system regardless of what happens? That sounds idiotic to me. Playing a system irrespective of the opposition or players available.....not for me.

As I said midweek I’d play Isgrove to the left and Darcy or Ali from the right. A narrower right hand side give the full back more licence.
So you'd play a central midfielder on the right (possibly one you campaigned for weeks to drop) and on the left you'd pick a right-footed winger who's been fairly abysmal today. Hmm.
And what would you do to change it? How do you propose we have more than one shot on target this half? Wferably a lot more?
I'd bring on your mate Crawford for a start, possibly for Brockbank and put Thomason out wide, because he has the vision and determination to pass forward. With a 10 sitting on Spearing it will pressure them. We could play Isgrove at RWB but probably not yet.
Possibly. I could go with that. I just want to see us put together a convincing performance for 45 minutes where we dominate.

Better. Getting men 10yds further forward, with outside centre-backs overloading on the overlap.

Me too. And I think Tranmere may naturally drop back a bit. We need to be on the front foot, whatever the formation and personnel. Take the game to them.

Fair play, he's injured. So they're bringing on someone a foot taller.

Nice patience, pull em around, find the gap, cross in, nearly score.

To be fair, he's not a left wing-back.
