Can we give the Cumbrians, the blues? Carlisle away Sat 26th Dec.3-0 clock.

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

It’s shite though isn’t it. You can’t set off at 1, stop at the services for a curly wurly, piss and a fag, rock up at the ground and play like professional footballers. It’s 2020 not 1973. Beaten ourselves through complete incompetence, again.
Big Sam managed it at Tranmere. Let’s face it we are complete unmotivated. Every single Carlisle players wants it more. More motivated. Try harder. However good or not your players are if they aren’t up for the battle then it’s hopeless.
You were saying...
None of what I was saying has changed. We were lucky to still be in the game. Carlisle had two great chances to kill it off just before we scored. And frankly the goals don’t change the performance or it’s ineptitude. Or our league position.
Oh FFS man

We've just scored two in the last five minutes

If you can't take any joy from that, you need to examine how much you get out of watching football
You'd think so.

I’m pleased we’ve scored and equalised. It does not change any view I have of the complete failure this season has been. Or the ineptitude and mess the management has been.

I never want us to lose. I also don’t want us struggling at the bottom of league two. We should in my view not be here. This team is capable. Much more capable than they have shown.
I didn't say you wanted us to lose. But if you can't be happy when we've drawn level after being two goals down with nine left, if you're still feeling more misery than joy, then I put it to you that watching Bolton is bad for you. And that's expressed with love and concern, not an attempt to win a stupid f*cking internet argument.

Mental conditions. Horror first half hour. Lots wrong with that. But f*ck me grabbing a point with two goals in the final 10 feels good.

Character etc.

Fell of my bed aborting my celebration when Thomason hit the post.

Greenidge for Delaney now.

Daughter did giggle when I fell on the floor!

So close.

We were bobbins, ref was bobbins but we got a point. Our best run of the season came off the back of a poor game in Cumbria. Onwards and upwards.

That's saved the dog another kicking! Delighted with a point. Now maybe we could stop giving teams a three goal head start.

I've suspected all along that Evatt wanted Greenidge (or possibly, preliminarily, Taft) rather than Delaney and this might give him the excuse. I don't think it will be smooth after that - Greenidge has got a mistake in him, for sure - but that's for another day.

With ten left we were dead, but we got a point - another Cumbrian comeback. We shouldn't need to make them and the manager clearly has a lot to learn but don't give me any shite about lack of heart etc.

Heart still pounding rom the sheer joy of a snatched point at Carlisle. Football, bloody hell, etc.

I think the ref might have played enough minutes for them to equalise if we'd gone in front.

Too much was about him today and not the game. So many poor decisions in both halves.

We are wasting time. We did the same with Coyle. I wish we weren’t doing it again but we are. I hope dearly hope it doesn’t kick us as hard as not booting a clueless Coyle when it was obvious we should do, did.

You specifically stated that the biggest problem we have is none of our players are up for the fight. We just came back from 3-0 down (away) to draw with the second placed team in the league, which for me, renders your point complete and utter bollocks.

I agree. I'm yet to be convinced the problem is one of a lack of effort and willing rather than a lack of confidence and self-belief (and perhaps in some cases also just a lack of ability).

I've said elsewhere Evatt has a lot to learn, but turfing him now for a short-term fix doesn't make any sense. Maybe things aren't as black and white as you (or for that matter Steve Eyre) often make out.

If you enjoyed yourself when we equalised, you hid it well, and still do. I genuinely hope you are happy, because you don't act like it. By a person's actions shall they be known, and in a decade or more of me being round here I've rarely seen you rush to the keyboard in exultation. In fact, you far too frequently seem to embody the wrong answer to the old rhetorical question "Would you rather be right or happy?"

If I've read you wrong, you can't blame me. But maybe I should just stop reading you.

We didn’t dominate the game at any point. We scored two goals out of nothing. It quite feasibly could have been 4-1 to them. So whilst it’s a nice point I don’t think it’s a sign of any revival. In fact it’s a continual pattern. We have some good comebacks. Get a few results then things go awful again. We concede far too easily. Have no pattern to our attacking play and our set pieces are abysmal. Bottom line all that matters is league position and results. Neither are even close to being good enough. Evatt has failed.

Give it a rest, pal. Go have a beer and enjoy the point saved. We’ve got one more game before the transfer window opens and Evatt has the chance to rectify some of the mistakes made in the summer.

Got up off my seat when Kioso equalized. God bless his soul, because based on our performance in the first half I expected nothing. If I am to be honest however, we do look a poor side and need help in January. We have to be more solid as a team. The way we are set us makes us weak all over the pitch. We cant defend, we don't create many chances, and we are overwhelmed in midfield. Is it the players or the manager tactics?

Anyway, I will celebrate the point. its an important one morally.

Allardyce had legions of assistants, because we were spending money. Now we're not. But this morning's Iles piece said:

"It is understood a chief scout and at a first team coach could be installed once the restructure of jobs at the academy is finalised – a process which has dragged on considerably longer than anticipated."

It's hard to know where to start on what we need but I would hope we'd pay more attention to defending and attacking set pieces. I can't believe a data-hungry process-led manager like Evatt hasn't noticed the headroom for improvement there.
