I can’t work Maddison out at all.
^^ Not seen anything too special, yet. If some of our more knowledgeable posters and our manager weren't telling me he's all that and a bag of chips, I'd wonder why we'd signed him.

We’ve eased off a tad too much for my liking.
I was thinking that but I wonder whether we're conserving for Saturday...?

Oldham's first shot on target comes in the 89th minute.
Perhaps, but it definitely doesn’t sound like that’s the guidance Evatt is giving...
He's going to do his "there were things in the second half I didn't like, we can improve, that's not what I want from an Ian Evatt team".
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

although Cambridge are losing to Scunthorpe the stats are very much reflecting a Bolton-Barrow style game with a sucker punch against Cambridge.
Aye, 17 efforts to 2!

Excellent stuff. Somewhat disappointed we didn’t convert pressure into more goals but I know that’s picky. Defended very professionally. Controlled the game. Conserved energy. Just lacked that final ball.

Very professional. More goals would have been nice but most important was to clinically close game out and we did. Excellent. No complaints. On to the next. Keep winning and automatics loom into view.

Excellent. First time all season I felt totally relaxed about the result.

Nice and comfortable. Our season-long mid-week unbeaten run continues.

A couple of very big matches coming up, but we have no reason to fear anyone now.

Cambridge have lost at home to Scunny. FGR have been battered by Stevenage. Tranmere, who we can deal with later, have done us a favour by beating Newport, who we now leapfrog. It's not all gravy - Morecambe and Salford both won - but not a bad night at all.

Cambridge have gone W2 D1 L3 in the last six, starting with a 4-1 slapping at Salford. Even so, they're still in the autos and next Tuesday at ours is a big game. Maybe even bigger if we can first beat Bratfurt, one of only two teams with better form than us over the last 11 – the other being Tranmere (those two have 26pts to our 24).

Exciting week ahead.

In my more emotional moments I'm starting to look back even further. This feels like that run at the end of Rioch's first season. Although not unbeaten, that was an astonishing one – WWWDWWWDDWWWLWWWWW for 45pts from a possible 54. I don't think we'll need anything like that to reach the play-offs this season but while we're on form, keep milking it.

Bottom placed Grimsby can still get 72 points...
