Well I, for one, am quite happy for the shift to the earlier kick off time. It means a far more civilised time of 21:30 for me. Selfish? You bet it is and, you know, I don't care.

And yet 100000 plus sad heads with zero respect have complained to the BBC because the schedules were changed and they couldn't watch eastenders and some wannabee cooks on Masterchef. It was the queen's husband , who has done more for this country than Danny effin Dyer and Greg Wallace, remember the change to sporting schedules when Di died ? Show some respect.
I have no problem with his funeral being covered and those who wish to can watch or the tributes the day after. Absolutely fine. But I don’t see why a week later football is shifted. 100,000 deaths ignored yet one man is given such prominence. I don’t agree with that.

I also don’t disrespect him nor do I respect him and frankly do not see why I should. People die every day that I care about or appreciated their talents. But I don’t expect the world to come to a stop for a week.

The ‘he has done a lot for the country’ argument is somewhat debatable. Many have died who have probably done a lot more for a lot less. I don’t really get it. However I know many feel the need to be reverent when royals are involved and that’s fine. But they can do so without everything being postponed for a week plus.

Whereas I've got my first 12pm kick off the season. I'd have been able to play, and then watch us. So I'm gutted

Missed this an in a couple of hours it'll be outdated, but the ever-ace Experimental361 gives us a roughly 58% chance of automatic promotion - easily clear of Tranmere (22%) and Morecambe (12%) - based on 10,000 computer simulations of each fixture based on each club's expected goals thus far. (More explanation here, if you want it.)

I suspected we had the best chance of the pack, but this has given me fresh hope. Don't let me down, Whites.

Only way to deal with these run ins is to be relentless. Tonight will have depressed the chasing pack. Next two games I’d say win those and we are very very close. But it’s Bolton. I thought we’d done it after beating Southend only to go and balls up a bit to make it nail biting.

But win the next and who knows we may surpass Cheltenham and make them worry more than us.

If you were a Tranmere fan you might feel like looking over your shoulder a bit nervously. Still to play Salford abs Bradford chasing play off spots and FGR who are clinging on for a play off spot. Then also Colchester and Barrow from the other end. Nothing simple there for them. Vaughan is apparently back fit though.

Judging from their forum, that's precisely where a lot of 'em are looking... :-)

Aye. The other thing is that you really don't want to limp into the playoffs, which is what most of them are doing. This could well be one of those where a late runner - Orient? – comes in with nothing to lose and a bouncing squad and wins the three-game series.

I wouldn’t bet against us going up automatically and winning the playoffs as well 😃

I suspect none of the chasing teams wants us to be in the playoffs with them. They will all want us to go up automatically.

They've had to play twice a week for ages now because of their games in hand, it'll catch up with them - maybe next Tuesday.

Can you imagine if we played them in the play-off final?! I still have absolutely no idea as to why these things are played at Wembley. Reminds me of the Tranmere game. Absolutely nobody was there for a day out.

He clearly means going up automatically then winning the playoffs in 2022. He just worded it badly.

Indeed. On the telly Elton Welsby predicted 70,000. As it was there were about 22,000, the majority of them in the cheap seats which at the old Wembley were half a pitch from the *nearest* goal. We laughed when we realised they were piping tinny Tranmere chants through the ancient Tannoys, until it dawned on us they'd be doing the same for us too.

On this I disagree. For many clubs they might see a play off final once or twice in a generation. And that’s their trip to Wembley. They aren’t getting there any other time. So I think it’s absolutely right. Obviously a ball ache for those of us who have been plenty of times. But still, it’s an enjoyable day out and football aside I’ve enjoyed most trips there (not as much as Cardiff though).

I clearly meant we are going to register a second XI and it’s going to storm the play offs 🤪
