I might only have Coaching Badge 1, but if I was an opposing manager I'd tell my centre forward to get between our centre backs and push my wide men onto our full backs - stop us from fecking about with it and playing it out from the backHarry Genshaw wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:49 pmThis passing it between the centre backs to draw them out is a great idea. However, if you're so slow to finally play a forward pass, all their men have dropped back.

I'd say Arthur's been comfortably the biggest underperformer out there, so much so that the right side has been neglected so we're looking at Dapo only, whose not managing to make headway as he's dropping to link up. The right side worked well and that's where we scored from so there's definitely a benefit from getting the ball out there, but at the moment its a cheap giveaway.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:49 pmI like the guy but coming on late in the game, often when we're winning, against tiring defenders is a very different proposition to starting against determined defenders.Mar wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:45 pmSuspect there is more pressure to perform given he's been given his chance. We're all wanting him to do well but today doesn't seem to be his day. Especially if you compare how well he's done to Dapo today. Maybe he needs to swap flanks?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:42 pmArthur's in danger of getting the half-time hook here.
Almost heretical to say it (and impossible to disprove) but it's hard to imagine Isgrove would have offered less.
But Arthur's not alone in underperforming.
I think Isgrove would've performed better. Gnahoua's good off the bench with tired defenders as he likes to run at them. There's been little sign of that happening so far, almost as if he's holding up play instead of running at the opposition.

I have no Coaching Badges. My observation is thus. Score.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:55 pmI might only have Coaching Badge 1, but if I was an opposing manager I'd tell my centre forward to get between our centre backs and push my wide men onto our full backs - stop us from fecking about with it and playing it out from the backHarry Genshaw wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:49 pmThis passing it between the centre backs to draw them out is a great idea. Absolutely agree re Gnu, however, I think the nett result had we played Isgrove would've been identical. Cometh the hour - Maddison

One of them starts to the 2nd half.
Got a bad feeling this is going to end in tears.

If only this ref was as picky with them time-wasting as he is with where to take throw-ins.

Are we going to have to concede to get going?

I love how Ian Evatt has told everyone this week that this is going to be the hardest game so far and no one in the press listens.
Guess what. A team has turned up.

Three corners in a row. Are we really in charge?

Dapo needs to start coming up with some end product.

Looks like their game plan was to get at us second half which they seem to be keen to do.
Time for Gnahoua to come off surely. He started the second half a little better and seemed to be keen to press the opposition but its just not happening. Hopefully this is a one off. Maybe Elbo is the man to swap with him.
Ah, as I type here they come.
Delf -> Elbo
Gnahoua -> Maddison
I suspect Elbo wide with Maddison in Delfouneso's position.
Fingers crossed this gives us that edge.

Dapo central I reckon.

Maddison putting the ball in an area and the other players are 2 seconds behind,
Poor pass or poor anticipation?

...in which position he promptly stands and watches as two successive passes whiz past him. Hmm.
