Yeah 2-0 at half time and you have to feel this was done. Dixon being rubbish has let them back in and our inability in set pieces finishes the job. Right now we are very poor. They look the better side. Completely lost momentum.
Agreed, the shift has completely put us on the back foot. Looked comfortable controlling the possession up until that Dixon mistake and next thing you know we've got panic ensuing and can't defend corners.

Just looks like Barrow want it more. If we can't match them theres a good chance we can pull an Argentina.

Doesn't help that Kachunga's not attacking crossed balls, had a reasonable chance but didn't look at all like attacking it. Thankfully he's on for the tap in. Lovely work by Dapo yet again and easy as you like for Kachunga.

Happy to be proved wrong on us performing badly thankfully.

Jeezus! I step away for a bit to administer the wife's meds and come back to this crazy scoreline  And I can't rely on the kettle because it's carrying a knock!

And the key to a result is a good :kettle:

Dropped nicely for Santos then. I thought that was it. The Moment. But then I thought Kachunga wasn’t a goal threat. And look at him now.

This officiating is abysmal.

How was Kachunga offside there?
Barrow no penalty for clear handball.
Dapo getting smashed left right and centre.

Yeah, I suspect Kachunga's quite competent when he's actually attacking.

Miles better than Clayton (i'll run to the corner flag) Donaldson.

That was always Donaldson's problem, bar was too low, and goal too not wide enough, and nowhere near the corner flag. We really should've stopped doing those pre-match shooting drills near the corner when he was playing.

Feels like our sloppiness is creeping in yet again.

Wouldn't be a Bolton match if we werent having a goal disallowed and complaining about refs.

Clayton Donaldson has scored 195 league goals in his career. A decent portion of those in league one and championship.

Kachunga has bagged 24 league goals in his career.

According to soccerbase.

Bit of a gulf there.

He’s better than the Clayton Donaldson that turned up for a season at our place then!

I'm sure he'd also argue that Heskey had a better record too. Doesn't mean it's a good decision to have an over the hill Heskey / Donaldson at the club. Our Donaldson is nowhere near the player that got 1 in 3 elsewhere.

I thought you didn't like ropey comparisons?

Anyone who would have Donaldson over Kachunga is legally thick.

Strange this attendance...

Attendance: 2,381 (585 Barrow)

I'm sure the Qatari's had us down for 32'000 in attendance last night.

In all seriousness, that's a good turnout from Barrow. Less so from ourselves but I suspect we're a bigger draw for Barrow than vice versa. Especially a day after a world cup fixture too.

As for the disallowed goal...

Image

It's a good call from the refs.

Next round opponent possibilities:
Bolton
Everton U21 or Mansfield
Salford
Accrington
Lincoln
P.Vale or Barnsley
Man Utd U21
Burton

Obviously there are one or two there to avoid!!
