Shades of days gone by as the neighbours come calling in the Football League Trophy. Maybe not the best time but there's never a better time than beating the Mancs. Are we up for it after a bad weekend? :Jedi:

Bollocks, I'd forgotten about this game.

Dixon will have the game of his life and we'll lose on penalties.

Ugh, this really is lose fecking lose isn’t it?
Lose and we’ve lost (to point out the obvious).
Win and we’ve had an end filled by cheapo DMBs giving it large and ‘only’ beaten a feck* kids team. Grim.

Feel a bit sorry for Dixon. Wonder if this is punishment for the not smashing the Shrewsbury player in the face whilst smashing the ball clear at the weekend.

I very much doubt it'd be punishment. I get the impression it's more a case of wanting to progress further than we did last season.

We went out of this cup last season, at this stage from a Dixon error, and given his last few outings it looks like that would repeat. It's only fair Trafford gets a crack at pushing for a trophy. Don't think anyone would've been comfortable with Dixon in net and despite Traffords error on the weekend its clear he's the best option we have.

Besides I suspect there's not been much in that decision. He could've quite easily gone with Dixon. Bragging rights on the cards I guess.

How is this game still 0-0?

There's been about 4 good chances already.

Make that 5 with Iredale's cross.

Should be 6.

Charles poaching a goal from an offside position. Kachunga went mental at him.

Good showing from Bolton so far. Need to start taking these chances. Can't blame Charles for going to head that in, he would've been impacting the play given how close he was regardless.

To be fair, Dapo's effort and Aimson's 2nd effort wre both going in (Charles scored but disallowed Aimson's 2nd).

Decent chance for Utd there, Morley needs to put a tackle in when tracking back with a player. Stood off a bit too much then.

Laboured counter attack comes to nothing as Morley plays a terrible ball to an offside Kachunga.

Such a poor ball from Morley given the advantage we had. Seemed to get caught in two minds.
Nice bit of defending from Morley to break up Utd counter attack. Seems quite involved today.

Jones off injured, replaced by Toal.

Jones injured. Captain armband given to Lee, I think.

Jesus wept. Gonna be one of those nights. Lovely ball for Charles who you'd expect to at least hit the target with that.
