A switch of the (h) Ips and we're gone..Home V THE Tractor Boys Sat 11th Mar. 3-0'clock
Since it's a long break between games,a Saturday followed by a Friday night visit to Sheffield, I thought I'd stick up an early hymn sheet to post any views and forecasts about our visitors from Portman Road. This is another critical pair of games that could define our future. Can you smell the deisel..?

4-1. Sorry, the pedant in me couldn't let it pass
A few weeks back Ipswich were struggling to turn dominance into wins and many of their fans were losing patience with McKenna. Forest Green came along at the right time for them and they've not looked back since.
I actually fancy us for once though.
2-1 win.

Big game this one.
Evatt and the players have been careful not to talk about specific aims in terms of league position. Obviously we wanted to try and push for a top two finish, but we are now directly saying we hope to finish in the play-offs. That remains a reasonable target.
We need to get a performance out of the lads. Ipswich are a quality side, but we can beat them if we play well. We do need to beat them.
Vik won't be fit. Has anything been said about Jerome?

Toal has been called up by Northern Ireland. Let's hope he celebrates with a goal.

I’m hoping our new strike force might start pitching in with some goals! Jerome was supposed to be fit for Morecambe so I’m hoping he plays a part. Nlundulu to start?
I’d drop shoretire for Lee, other than that team should pick itself?

Ipswich are the shortest price any team has been this season, across the entire football league, tonight vs Accy. Let's hope our chums up the road can give them a tougher game than expected.
Given the prevailing weather conditions, I think we should consider ourselves extra fortunate to not have to play tonight. Wouldn't want to wish injury on anyone, but playing Accrington in freezing weather is a recipe for picking up some bumps and bruises.

That's intriguing....

The only way Accy are getting anything is if I go and bet my car, house, and life savings on an Ipswich win.

Accy are garbage this season, so I'm not surprised they've been given crap odds. Saying that if Accy can rough them up a bit and take something I'd be very grateful. They'll probably get battered on the properly-sized pitch at Portman Road. It's one of the widest pitches in the league and Accy can't defend open space.
An Ipswich off day and a belligerent Accrington is the stuff of dreams. What we don't want is for Ipswich to score early and coast through. We want them knackered by the end.

This is the definition of BIG game. Could be season defining given the situation we're in.

Weather not looking great in the motherland on Saturday. Unsure whether this is a positive for us or not.

No arguing with that for a change. We just can't rely on what others are doing and only a winning streak is going to lift us. Luck and fortune matter not and if we want any chance of promotion , and no use cursing games we claim we should have won, bad decisions and unfriendly refs. We're no different then a few others all scrabbling to get up there. "To the victor the prize", as it goes. If we want it bad enough, we can do it but our room for error is shrinking. ..Get in there and fight..BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Mar 08, 2023 9:19 amThis is the definition of BIG game. Too old and infirm for Wembley, but I'll be watching on the box and there in spirit as ever. Meanwhile, more urgent business to be attended to. Time to be thinking , "Regardless of a result", what happens next? Saturday is as important, maybe more-so, than even the trip to the Capital because if we're still in League Two at season end, what price silverware? I'm thinking as the club's future.

But yes, Saturday's a biggie. A massive game.
