No Declan John in squad tonight and rumours he might be on his way. Which would be yet another player we’d need to recruit.

And just when all of us had assumed we could build the team around him for the next decade. :D

Yeah but come on. We are behind already in squad building and shipping players out simultaneously. I don’t think we should be letting anyone out without someone to come in. We are told everyone else won’t yet somehow we are a special case.

It’s not though. As we need to replace him with a LWB. And good wing backs are rare and expensive. And already need one on the right.

Lighten up. :-) Didn't we play Iredale there, some games last year? Not like we don't have spare CBs...

Imagine poor old Mr Markham sighing and pulling out a fresh sheet of paper, sadly writing “LWB” at the top of it and hitting the play button.

I accept I now say this and *could* be proved wrong, but do you not think IE et al have thought of this?
They presumably have a plan, lets leave them to putting it into place.
I very much doubt they are sat there picking their arses and just letting players go willy-nilly without a care in the world....

Just because we don't know the plan doesn't mean there isn't one.....

Sads is like a new signing. :-)

Maybe we'll switch formations and play wingers... :-)

Good LW's should be pretty easy to find.

We sold Dapo and ended up with Shoretire. Aimson went and we got Mbete.

I’m not convinced we always get this right frankly.

With the net result of finishing where we'd always been in 5th and winning a Cup..

I think with some of the comments IE has made recently I wonder if he's either challenging Sads to focus on being a wingback OR he thinks that Sads can be that elusive attacking mid we need?
Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!

And the key to a result is a good :kettle:

It does read like a "redemption" opportunity...

See what he says tonight but the comments after Saturday sound to me like “yeah he’s good going forward but he has to learn to tackle back”

Aye had undertones of "needs to do what I'm telling him," for sure

To be fair, when we announced Shoretire I seem to remember a fair bit of excitement at the prospect and I also had a few Utd supporting mates who said he'd be a great signing for us, so there was a plan there.

And wasn't Mbete a last minute plug to fill the gap when Johnstone got crocked at Charlton - don't think he was meant as a replacement for Aimson was he?

Likewise we got rid of Crellin and got Trafford, Fossey and got Bradley.

Maybe we'll get some wrong but we do get it right also.
