I've also seen a few BWFC performances drop off after a good start. While that's better than not having a good start at all, I'd like to see more of the bare-incisor treatment we gave United's kids.Prufrock wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 3:29 pmYeah exactly this. These are awful, we've been excellent. Get the game won and confidence up now.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 3:27 pmGet the third. Keep it going. Bring on subs. Get *them* going.
More likely to get something out of Bod on Tuesday is he's got half an hour and a goal today.

Plan A has worked! No doubts how good we are when plan A works. And happy to tick off plenty of games where it does!

Barnsley go behind at Orient, so we go third as it stands.

I've got more desire for the top two to slip up. Oxford, have just scored to increase their gap on the chasing pack.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 3:34 pmBarnsley go behind at Orient, so we go third as it stands.

Feels like a bit of game management this. Intensity has dropped somewhat.
I hope they turn it on and see us get another. Match is never wrapped up at 2-0. That being said, Northampton really haven't offered anything of note. Surprised they've won 4 games this season. This is possibly the worst opposition performance we've seen this season, in terms of attacking threat at least.

Well quite, but if Barnsley win then they're in the best position to overtake Oxford/Pompey. One job at a time: we need to cut the gap, but we also need to get to the front of this chasing pack.Mar wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 3:38 pmI've got more desire for the top two to slip up. Speaking of which, Posh are losing - at home to Wycombe, where we go Tuesday... my ticket is bought...
(Pompey are being held 0-0 at home by our old friends Carlisle)

I prefer them to ones starting "nil".

ha Posh have equalised v Wycombe. Happy with a draw between those two, TBH - minimises the points accrued by rivals (plural).

I see your point, but clearly there's no point in gaining ground on the rest if we're still stuck languishing in third.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 3:45 pmWell quite, but if Barnsley win then they're in the best position to overtake Oxford/Pompey. That being said, securing playoffs would be a good start, regardless of where we finish in the league.

Started well. Tailed off a bit. If we don’t win from this it will be very poor - I’ve seen league two teams better than this.

Every loss for a rival is to be celebrated (and I'm usually happy with them drawing against each other)but there's not much we can do to make it happen, bar perhaps offer tactical intel with the managers facing them.
More importantly, we just need to keep winning. Control the controllables, innit. If we win every remaining league game then Pompey, Oxford and one other would have to get to 125pts to deny us the autos.

Early second half brew to settle the nerves is needed methinks.

Glad we had that two-goal lead now - one of only two in the EFL at half-time
Would be gladder if we didn't need it
