I think that means their Burnley game, not us.

Blackpool-Forest, Bristol City-West Ham are other options, although they'll probably just go for the biggest club possible. Everton-Palace, perhaps.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 4:32 pmOur fixture will be on whatever day the TV lot decided, so it may be we get coverage too. It's a good fixture to cover. A Prem side against a famous name, at a ground that's easy to film in.

Will be one Tuesday and One Wednesday, I think. West Ham and then Everton V Palace do look favourites, I agree.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 4:38 pmBlackpool-Forest, Bristol City-West Ham are other options, although they'll probably just go for the biggest club possible. Why the hell anyone would be interested in an all-Prem 7-changes drear-fest is beyond me but think you're right.
Could do with a result at the Emirates now, that'll deffo be on if there's a replay.
Hopefully foreign TV pick up some of the others and we get a couch!

Researched my own answer: No.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 2:51 pmYeah, it's just decision-making with him. Sometimes it's like when he receives the ball he's so intoxicated with all the things he could possibly do next that he can struggle to choose the right one. But he's a good player, and potentially a very good one.
Is this the first time he's been paired with Dempsey as the free 8s?
Dempsey and Makepe... sorry, Dempsey and Maghoma played together in the 3-1 home win over Fleetwood, paired in front of Thomo (until the kid was hooked at half time what with him being booked and the ref being a liability).
They also started together soon after at Burton (D 1-1 - Dempsey assist) and, for what it's worth, for the first half of the 2-0 Sherpa win over Vale in early December (Dempsey assist).
They feel slightly similar in style but they didn't get in each other's way today. Slight surprise that they were both picked at the expense of Thomason but you'd expect Thomo and Morley will form a young Lancastrian two-thirds of the midfield at Accy.
I'd like Ashworth and Matheson to get some minutes at Accy or we risk running Randy and Cogs into the ground. The replay will be between the home game to Cheltenham (who beat Pompey yesterday) and the long trip to Orient, which will thus become our 10th game in 35 days. So far, Cogz has played every minute of them.

It's purely a numbers game. They figure bigger clubs have more fans which means more eyeballs which means more advertising money (or, for the BBC, more viewing figures; one could argue Reith might wish them to "entertain" with a better game).Prufrock wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 4:58 pmWhy the hell anyone would be interested in an all-Prem 7-changes drear-fest is beyond me but think you're right.

LOL - Luton were going to go for a warm-weather training break in Dubai but now they have to come to Winter Hill on a January weeknight.

https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/2 ... -reaction/The start of second half we didn’t manage that spell well enough. I thought we edged the first half and were the better team. We had some good patterns of play but we just didn’t make that final pass or decision.
In the second half we went a bit safe, they put the pressure on but we defended our box well. The last 10 minutes we got on the ascendancy and were just a drop of the ball or moment when we could finish. But it just didn’t quite happen.
When you see cup shocks normally it's the lower league team hanging on for dear life with the Premier League team peppering the goal. But we wanted to win on merit and take it to them. Yes, we rode our luck at the start of the second half, that end was almost sucking the ball into the goal at times. We perhaps could have nicked it.
It's no good doing this today and it being a one-off. We must sustain these performances and be consistent with what we're doing. Hopefully, we will have a chance of getting back to the Championship and cause an upset in the replay. We just have to keep going, consistency is the main thing for us. We know what we are capable of, it is just doing it on a more regular basis.
For us, it wasn’t win or bust. We didn’t want to give it away if we couldn’t win it. This club has been through the mill, as everyone knows. The fans have suffered, and we are trying very hard to rebuild it to where it once was. Hopefully there'll be a full house for the replay and the extra revenue will go a long way to getting us back to where we want to get to.

No. I imagine the club's "ambitious target" will be 20k and it'll take some effort (pricing, social media, etc) to get there.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 5:40 pmMay be a few more. Don’t see it being close to full though do you?
Lack of away fans will make anything close to 20k a massive ask.
Do your bit, if you can afford it. Take folk with you. My aim is to take 10 in total - two carloads. May get it up to an even dozen. If the tickets are properly priced it's an affordable day out.
Anything over 15k will be an achievement for an unplanned midweeker.

My comment was not a criticism of the club and more a lament at the fact that the fa cup doesn’t seem to stir up the emotions anymore. Few decades earlier and this would be a possible full house. Just not that way anymore.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 5:49 pmNo. I imagine the club's "ambitious target" will be 20k and it'll take some effort (pricing, social media, etc) to get there.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 5:40 pmMay be a few more. Didn't take it as a criticism, just an assessment.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 5:58 pmMy comment was not a criticism of the club and more a lament at the fact that the fa cup doesn’t seem to stir up the emotions anymore. My view of ticket sales is always the same. If you can afford to, take folk with you.
If everyone going took one extra person we'd sell out most games.
A lot is on the club, but most fans can also do more to get bodies in the ground...in a non-murderer sense.

Neil Hart cites 20k as the figure in his Radio 5 Live interview...here's hoping.

Our back three did very well today for a group that cost a combined what, £3-400k? I wouldn’t be worried about any of them a level up.

20k would require £10 tickets all round, no?GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 6:18 pmNeil Hart cites 20k as the figure in his Radio 5 Live interview...here's hoping.

The entire 11 today cost just over £1m. The two FA Cup ties will cover what we paid for Forrester. Possibly Forrester and Toal.
